Negombo Fish Market

Negombo was home to Sri Lankan fishermen and women who engaged in traditional fishing methods long before the city became a renowned beach destination with hundreds of beach resorts lining its sandy shore. This large fish market, located at the western end of Negombo's seashore, is the center of all morning action. The guide and tour was excellent. He was on time and tuk tuk was clean. Provided sarongs to enter temples. I felt safe with him. He played great music. The tour was relaxed but professional. Recommended this tour.

We were picked up at 0600am. Found this to be a good time as not too hot and fish market very busy. Our driver came out of his way to pick us up. We are older sisters and he was very helpful making sure we were ok.

Great time seeing Negombo, interesting dry fish market and loved the monkeys on the lagoon cruise (additional trip). Excellent day out.

I think it's a good way to get to know the city of Negombo. However, there is no Japanese language support, so I think people who don't understand English are boring. The tour guide asked me to write word of mouth at the end, and I would keep an eye on him until he wrote it in front of me. If that's okay, it's a good guide.

The driver just earned an A! He was very helpful with everything and gave a very good explanation in everything. We were very happy with this tuksruk trip on our last day in Negombo! Very caring driver and also had umbrellas for sun protection,very important when walking at the fish drying!

Nishan is very nice guide. It was my first stop in Srilanka and he made it so good and interesting. He can talk and explain very properly about the places. It was a great start of my trip.
