Plovdiv Old Town

Discover Plovdiv- one of the oldest existing settlements in world! See the Roman Theater and parts of the Roman Stadium. Walk through the longest pedestrian street in Europe. Explore the magnificent Revival old town with its unique colorful houses from the 19th century. Plovdiv is about 2 hours’ drive from Sofia and is situated in the western part of the Thracian Valley. It is one of the oldest settlements in the world, having emerged on the three adjacent hills – the beginning of its history dates back to 4,000 years BC. It has preserved Thracian, Roman and Bulgarian heritage from different epochs. In Plovdiv you will have about 2 hours guided walking tour in the heart of the town and you will learn lots of historical facts and legends while exploring its most interesting sightseeing places. After the guided tour you will have about 2 hours free time for lunch break and shopping. The approximate return in Sofia is between 5pm and 5:30 pm.

This was great. They were on time, we had a nice tour and I just loved the city. I wish I could have stayed one night there, as I discovered Plovdiv is a very nice town.

Plovdiv is an amazing city and it was a great tour. The tour guide was very informative and seemed okay but I was on crutches as I had a knee injury and he didn’t really wait for me when moving from one site to the next. There’s a lot of walking to do and it was all done too fast.
Overall all good!

The city is beautiful and ULTRA recommended to go. The tour is cheap and works super well, but I think you can get more out of the city if you go it alone.

Good trip well worth a visit, the bus journey was 2hr and the guide informative...had plenty of time to explore the city after the tour by ourselves.

Bibiana is a very nice guide, worried at every point we were all, the problem was, she was a single guide and we were a very large group. The journey from Sofia is 2 hours Yes say that we had very little time to enjoy the city for free.

Pleasant tour with a beautiful city to visit among churches, museums and archaeological areas of ancient Rome. The Maria guide who waited for us in Plovdiv speaking good Italian proved very helpful and exhaustive, accompanying us for about two hours to discover this town. We also had free time for the visit independently.

Departure was on time, Diana, the tour guide was really nice and helpful. On the way back, already close to the capital city, water started dripping over the front seats, then it splashed on some of the passengers. Fortunately, there were still unoccupied rear seats, so they could manage to move to the back of the coach.
