Haedong Yonggungsa is a breathtaking temple located on the coast of Busan, making it one of the most unique temples in South Korea. Founded in 1376, this temple stands out from others that are typically nestled in the mountains, as it is situated right by the sea, offering a completely different atmosphere. The temple's name, which translates to "East Sea Dragon Palace Temple," is rooted in a legend that a dragon ascended from the sea to bring divine energy to the area. One of the temple's most captivating features is the harmonious blend of the temple's architecture with the stunning coastal scenery. To reach the temple, visitors must descend 108 steps, and as they do, they are greeted by a breathtaking view of the sea. Haedong Yonggungsa is especially famous as a prime spot to watch the sunrise, with many visitors arriving early in the morning to witness the spectacular scene of the sun rising over the East Sea, casting its golden light over the temple.

4.00I would recommend more than 3 - 4 hours. We were a family of 6. Aged 11 - 71. Would liked to have had a more leisurely time to wonder and explore the places we visited. Probably more suited to med - high level of fitness. Negotiating stairs and steep streets was a challenge. Dylan was prompt at pickup. Very informative and engaging. Funny guy. We appreciated his thoughtfulness in accommodating the older family members. He is a pretty good photographer as well. Loved Busan. Thank you for a wonderful day Dylan.

5.00Our private tour of Busan with Dylan was a highlight of our vacation. We booked this tour with four others who were on our cruise, and all agreed that the experience was fantastic, especially with Dylan as our guide. We selected a few sites that interested us, and were very glad Dylan suggested we start a little earlier than planned to avoid a lot of tourist congestion, which was much appreciated. All in all, the tour was a great success and Dylan was an excellent guide - highly recommended!!
