A wonderful and insightful tour of the island

5.00We were a bit concerned about this trip as the weather forecast suggested heavy rain starting about halfway through our 8-hour experience. But we needn’t have worried. Luis, our driver and guide, contacted us beforehand in case we did want to cancel, but we decided against it and had a wonderful day. Luis even adjusted the itinerary so that we started at the Cabo Girao viewpoint instead of visiting it last in the rain. Our route took us across the mountains on winding roads through beautiful villages to picturesque small ports. All the while Luis kept us informed with cultural, geographical, geological and even sporting insights to the areas we visited. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant recommended by Luis and later enjoyed a poncha at an interesting old bar by the sea. Luis also gave us a picnic to take back to our hotel. Light rain eventually started just as we reached our final stopping point, but nothing could dampen what was a wonderful day out. Thank you very much, Luis.

5.00We had the very best day with our tour guide Luis. He was so patient, kind and friendly and had amazing local recommendations and history to share. We enjoyed a full a exploring the entire island, the tour included a picnic snacks and all the highlight sights of Madeira! He even added a special trip to my grandparents village to see the church which was so special and appreciated. He was a fantastic driver, patient, knowledgeable. Luis even took our photos throughout the day. We never felt rushed and enjoyed all of the day even when it poured with rain. We were able to escape the clouds and find sunshine. You won't regret booking this tour or any with Luis at My Guide Madeira! Obrigado!

1.00Viator, what’s this? 1.000€ for 4 persons and just a van, 4 bottles of mineral water and some cookies, dosen stops mostly on lookout spots and 9 hours of driving. Lunch not included. With that price tag we expected something really exclusive. Out driver Miguel provided a safe drive and aswered all the questions, but that should standard at any tour. This was the worst steal ever.

5.00Luis is an amazing guide and a very personable person as well! We had an absolutely wonderful time spending the entire day with him. We enjoyed everything about this tour. The picnic lunch was a nice touch and we also had fun at the local Poncha bar he recommended where they make it fresh while you watch. Very cool! We were able to see so many sites in one day that would have been virtually impossible to do on our own. We just sat back and relaxed and he took care of the rest. Thanks again for a great time! 5.00Duarte avoided all the crowds at tourist stops and showed us the most beautiful locations on the island .. he was also very informative and knew the best local restaurants and was an excellent driver. It was a very relaxing experience overall. We would highly recommend his talents.

5.00Wonderful experience. We traveled the coastline and regularly stopped at various villages, sights or viewpoints. Luis gave a lot of interesting explanations about the island during the ride and gave us space to experience the excursion at our own pace. A lot seen and learned in 1 day!
