The first stop is a small fishing village, “Câmara de Lobos”, which is located west of Funchal where the port is a small creek. A beach and harbor can be seen, with the houses heaped up around the bay. In 1949 Winston Churchill chose this place to paint its picturesque surroundings.
Cabo Girao
After visiting Camara de Lobos, you will head for worlds second highest sea cliff and Europe’s highest (580m) – (1775 ft). Here you can enjoy the beautiful views of Camara de Lobos and Funchal.

5.00Was fantastic!! Our driver/guide Rui was fantastic! We met him 0835 and didn’t get back to our drop off point 1745, so a very long day. We stopped off at several places, usually for 20-40 mins, our lunch stop was just under 2hours. Rui was extremely knowledgeable about this beautiful island. Telling us so many interesting facts. Stopped at some amazing waterfalls. We drove to Fanal but oh dear the weather was atrocious! We were not dressed appropriately so didn’t manage to see the magical forest. Our last stop was to a local bar selling Poncha!! Oh boy!! Fantastic! They give you a small dish of peanuts in their cases and you just throw shells on the floor!! Odd, but great experience and chance to chat to others on trip. At our lunch stop we managed to sneak in and get a sea view! Overall was a fantastic day! Thanks Rui. Our guide. Just b mindful its a long day on and off getting off the small mini bus. Fab!

5.00Great driver and guide, Rui was punctual, knowledgeable and cared about his work. The journey was a very good mix of places and the time at each stop was right for us. Such a lot was packed into the day but we didn’t feel rushed at all. Excellent value.

5.00We had a fantastic day on the West Tour. Our guide Rui was absolutely excellent — knowledgeable, funny, and very engaging throughout the entire trip. He explained the history and geology of Madeira in a way that was easy to understand and enjoyable for everyone. He also drove safely and confidently, which made a huge difference on the mountain roads. The tour was very well organized with varieties and the mini bus was comfortable and clean. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore Madeira’s West Coast without renting a car or driving on mountain roads. Our whole family had a wonderful time with zero stress and no planning needed — just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

5.00Our guide Rui, was excellent!.. so knowledgeable regarding ,history, flora& fauna, and especially road building on this island of tunnels& twisty turns!. He was kind enough to give us all on the tour, his advice on every question we asked, and was very kind and patient. A great value for money day out , across all the best of the West and North coast& mountains.

5.00An excellent tour to see the West and ride over the top to see the ancient trees of Fanail. Then the tour takes you to Port Moniz - a great stop for a Madeiran lunch. Many stops and thank goodness a good driver and guide who gave a superb commentary with interesting facts about the area and people of Madeira - thank you Christian. Great value for a full day experience - I would definitely recommend this tour.
