  I really recommend this company mana moorea tours to go discovering whales. Very competent team and respectful of the rules of approach. We were very well supervised safely to make the most of these magical moments. Thank you to the team. Good continuation and do not hesitate to book your excursion with this agency. Moreover the boat is very comfortable.

  It was a great experience. Nono was very informative about the whales and was always concerned about everyone’s safety. We found a mama and baby, the mama took a nap just as we swam to the whales. Baby was going up and down. It was so cool. Landry the boat driver made sure we found the whales too.

  On September 9, 2025 we booked a whale watching tour with this company. We went out with a three-person crew, including a photographer. We were photographed onboard the boat and the whales by a young woman photographer. I had an underwater camera with me, but the marine "expert" on board with us said I should just let the photographer handle photographing the whales underwater because it would be too distracting for me to try to photograph. The photographer sent us an email immediately with samples of the photos she took, including ones where we were in the photos. So this was definitely the person who was involved in the photography. This person said that they accepted Paypal for payment of a copy to me of photography. After I tried to pay her via Paypal, she refused the payment and sent me a refund, saying that "I was trying to charge her too many fees." I explained that I wasn't charging any fees, that Paypal was, but she refused payment via Paypal. At this point I notified Mana Moorea tours by email of the problem with the photographer not accepting Paypal. They referred to the photographer by her name. They said she's not their employee, but they put this person on the boat with their customers, and it’s my opinion they definitely knew about the whole bait and switch on paying with Paypal. They certainly are aware of it now. This photographer continued to refuse Paypal payment and instead sent me a link that supposedly paid via the money transfer site Stripe. I later found out that this link was fraudulent and instead went to a fraudulent hacking outfit. On the same day I made the supposed Stripe payment the hackers made a fraudulent charge on my credit card. I had even set up a Stripe account that same day, thinking my money had gone via Stripe. After discovering the fraudulent charge, I contacted a Stripe representative and they confirmed that no transaction had ever occurred between me and any merchant on Stripe, which included the company the photographer operates. Also, no charge ever originated from Stripe to my credit card. This is all in my emails with the photographer sending me the fraudulent link. Please beware of this company. In my opinion it’s very obvious that the company is familiar with the scam that's being pulled off with the trip photographs. The company itself has you put a deposit down through a special money transfer portal, and then after that they only accept a cash payment, so this company seems unusual from many of the other companies online that accept credit cards for their payment.

  Lolo and Lingee were awesome! Finding whales is hard, getting in position with moving whales is even harder! But we did it! We got to be with a mother and calf and words can’t describe how magical it was to be there with them! Unbelievable!

  This experience was a 10/10! The tour operators were professional and showed great respect for the whales and the environment. We were lucky to spot a few, and after swimming about 100 yards to reach them, the whales came right up to us—just as curious about us as we were about them. Reaching them does take some effort and confidence in open-water swimming. We did experience a bit of motion sickness, and I wish I’d taken Dramamine beforehand. Overall, this experience exceeded my expectations and created a memory that will last a lifetime!

  Very mixed opinion on our whale trip of the day. A very nice captain and guide but not sufficiently invested for my taste. In a hurry to pick up customers from 10:00 am and then shopping at 1:30 pm. We saw 3 whales in the distance, 2 jumps very far, no launching for us. Too bad! I specify that I did not write anything about the time spent but yes we will actually see with the French agency that wrote us half a day (it is not half a morning) I mean "invested" concerned with the success of the "mission" (launch with whale watching). The briefing that was correct, patience had to be in order but finally I understood that waiting was useless 🤔 since you chained the exits. The snack was perfect. It was also planned, again by the agency, a biologist that we did not see.

  Aviola and Chris we’re able to find a mom and baby and put us in the perfect place to view them. Incredible experience. They were very knowledgeable and entertaining.

  I want to advise that there are better whale swimming tours available. My family and I were fortunate to visit the Island of Moorea for almost 2 wks from end of aug to Sept. During our stay we had booked multiple Whale Swimming tours with different companies. This was our 1st time visiting during whale season.The tour with Mana Moorea was our 1st excursion on the island. Our party consisted of 3 adults (ages 27, 30, and 50). We booked a private tour with hopes of getting a tailored experience for my mother's birthday. Of all the whale swimming tours this was the most expensive ($1000 for 4 hrs -we didn't get 4 hrs) From start to finish this tour was so disappointing. We were told to meet in our hotel lobby at 0945 for pick up. We were not picked up until around 1015. Once arrived to the place of departure we had to wait on our whale guide, Noémie for another 15 min.At first she did a nice job of educating our group on whales and their behaviors. However she came across very rude and unfriendly when discussing getting into the water. She mentioned "If you cannot keep up with me in the water don't get in" which discouraged my mother from trying. I felt this was unnecessary since we specifically booked a private tour to have a slower paced experience and more 1:1 contact with a guide. It took a while to find whales (not the tour company fault)while doing so we enjoyed being on the open ocean and the views of the island from sea. Once we spotted a whale we got in and approached. I asked if it was OK to bring a go pro and Noémie said yes. Seeing a whale like this in person was something I could only dream of. The moment was truly magical but quickly spoiled by Noémie. We started to film on our GoPros to capture such a special once in a lifetime moment. However, all of our footage, Noémie was in the frame, filming herself, so we swam directly to her left and right- within arms reach. Noémie started to swim away. We followed Noémie up to the surface where she started to raise her voice at me. She said I was "lost in my GoPro" and she was going to leave me in the ocean(my sister has this recorder on her GoPro). I apologized trying to deescalate but she continued to raise her voice at me saying I need to keep up with her/pay attention. I have been blessed to have scuba/ snorkeled in 30 countries and own a tourism business myself back home in the states. I have never thought a guide would talk to a guest this way. We feel she cared more about her GoPro footage than the quality of our time/ safety. My sister doesn't have as much water experience and said she felt unsafe with Noémie. She did not do a good job of looking back to check where we were and if we were keeping up. She brought a boogie board that she used to float herself on but never offered to us. Once back on board the boat we had some time remaining since we started around 1045, by this time it was 1 pm. I thought we may get to see the lagoon but instead we went to a gas station and sat on the boat for 35 minutes while we waited in line to fuel up. We were then dropped off at our starting location and told we would have shuttle back to our hotel. We had to wait about 25min for the ride to show up. This Tour pales in comparison to the other whale swimming tours we took. My mother was even able to swim with the whales on a different private tour that was $350 less. All the other tours we took were prompt with pick up and drop off, exceptional/kind captains and guides, snack/water/wetsuits provided, and we were able to get the full 4 hrs we paid for with the other boats. We were done early w another tour and were offered to see the lagoon. None of these tours had us waiting at the gas station. I feel the guides here only care about themselves and not the customers experience. The company does not respect your time. We lost an hr of the tour waiting to be picked up/dropped off and gassing up the boat. Not worth 1000usd when there are other companies that go above and beyond for less. Cannot speak to the other tours they offer but I would book a whale swim elsewhere.

  We had an incredible experience with our guide, captain and photographer. We were fortunate to see and swim with a humpback whale and her baby on 2 occasions and swam more whales from the boat. We cams across over a dozen Pygmy Orcas in the ocean and quickly scrambled to join them in the water as well. Very professional team, explained everything and very knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing your ocean with us!!
