Hi, I'm Momo, a sociology teacher at a local university. If you are expecting more than an ordinary sightseeing experience, this tour is a perfect choice. Mt. Fuji is not just a mountain, but it has been a spiritual symbol for the Japanese for more than 1500 years. Japanese traditionally believed Mt. Fuji is itself a god, and built worship sites and shrines around it, made pilgrimage trips to the summit. If you are interested in the Japanese culture, history and spiritual traditions, this tour is highly recommended.
We will first head to a panoramic view point in the morning, where you can see Mt. Fuji right in front of you, and lakes below. Then we explore the Aokigahara Forest, to experience the rich nature of Mt. Fuji.
In the afternoon, we will explore the cultural and historical aspects of Mt. Fuji, by visiting worship sites, Sengen Jinjya shrines, pilgrimage lava cave, etc. You will be provided with the academic and detailed explanations.

5.00This was the most comprehensive and lovely off-track tour, Momo our guide was so knowledgable and passionate about Mt Fuji and the importance to Japanese Culture. Seeing parts of Mt Fuji you would never normally see as a tourist and getting to understand its value, highly recommend this tour.

5.00MOMO the owner is a university teacher . Tomorrow has great insite into the shinto and buddhist religions and how they intertwine which each other in Japan. The tour was very informative and gave me a greater appreciation of Japan and the beautiful Mt Fuji.

5.00My wife and I booked this activity before anything else. We were both the most excited to see Mount Fuji. Momo was far and above the best tour guide we had in the entire stay we had in Japan. Due to mistakes on my part regarding booking the highway bus, we were due to arrive almost 3 hours after our tour start time. Momo was more than understanding and happily postponed before picking us up at the station. This meant the world to myself and my wife as we had spent the morning in a bit of a panic. Every leg of the tour that Momo took us on was perfect, he was more than happy to answer any of our questions or provide important context before arriving at each stop. Not only that but shared his personal favourite viewing spot for the mountain, as well as several local shrines. We are still not over how lovely he was and I can say with a certainty that this set the tone for the rest our time in Japan, and we are still not over it. He was also more than happy to discuss other shrines we were visiting and gave his recommendations and shared information that I could bit find publicly and enhanced our experience of those shrines too. If you are coming to Fuji, please book this tour, I cannot recommend it more. It was one of the most favourite things I've ever done and I cannot emphasise how amazing of a guide Momo is.

5.00Momo is an amazing guide! He let us discover beautiful nature, breathtaking viewing spots and learn a lot about the culture of Mt Fuji area. We loved all the walks through the forest, they were very doable even for a pregnant woman. Momo shared with us a lot of unknown for many tourists facts and information, explaining better the life of Japanese. Lunch was super delicious, very rich meal.
