Trunyan Cemetery

Visit one of Bali Aga Village in Bali where the famous Open Cemetery is located in a separate location not far from the village. Here you will see and learn how local people treat corpses. Not by being buried underground like an ordinary burial, but only by placing it above the ground and being ceremonial.

    Be prepared for a very long day with badroads, and lots of traffic. But once you get there, it is a trip of a lifetime. I love the hot spring time we had and the cemetery was truly an amazing once in a lifetime, National Geographic type moment.

    Very good day out experienced the heat from earth's core and enjoyed buggy ride and seen something never seen before rotting copses very interesting day and finished with a 3 course meal which was very nice

    Don’t get me wrong. The tour guide was perfect but the tour is very short. For the money I paid (230$) we pass by hot springs but ticket was not included. If you want to go to see Trunyan cemetery better from Ubud.

    This trip is a different experience to other tours in Bali. Widana has been a very knowledgable guide. Though I travelled solo, he made the trip fun and explained a lot about the local culture as well as the history of sites. We have seen the cemetery, the view of Mt Batur and lake from the restaurant, and visited a coffee plantation. It is worth adding the temple if you have time, Widana is very passionate about Hindu.

    It was such an amazing experience. We had such a surreal experience with our driver/guide wi. He was so knowledgeable and knew a lot about the culture and encouraged us to ask questions. So big shout out to him. Overall the tour is truely unique, it’s very spiritual and educational too but be aware that it should not be viewed with children as there are various aspects that may be graphic.
