Xunantunich is three hours drive from Placencia we spend two hours at the site then we break for lunch after lunch we drive one hour to the parking area of the cave where we spend three hours cave tubing and exploring the cave!
We spend two hours at Xunantunich and three hours at Nohoch Che'en Archeological site. The remaining hours are allotted for the travel time.
Xunantunich Mayan site is not accessible on wheelchair because from the parking lot there's a short hike up to the hill top or platform which is about quarter mile, Once at the hill top we then climb El Castillo a temple which is 130ft in height approximately two hundred steps

5.00We had a great time with Wilder Belize Adventures. After our booking, we were promptly contacted to confirm our booking and pick up time. We were picked up on time at our hotel and were a small private group of 3. We had the pleasure of being tied by Wilder himself. On our way to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins, Wilder told us about the Mayans, their custom, the site we were about to visit and other related information. He talked clearly and loid enough so that everyone could hear him in the car. We then visited the site and afterward, were brought to local restaurant where we had lunch. We then headed to our next activity, the cave tubing. Everything was well organized and we were brought safely to our hotel after a fun, pleasant day with Wilder. I highly recommend!

5.00I did the Xunantunich and Cave tubing tour in October with Wilder Belize. Victor was our guide, and he did an outstanding job. He picked us up at our accommodation right on time. He knew all of the cool stops when we needed a coffee, and I can't imagine talking to anyone who knows more about the Mayan site of Xunantunich. We even got to see a spider monkey in the trees near the ruins, since he knew where to look. I would 100% book another tour with this company and I hope to visit Belize again for more adventures!

5.00Wilder was an amazing tour guide! We went to Belize to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. My husband really wanted to go to Xunantunich. I initially had some difficulty finding tours because we traveled in the off season and there was only 2 of us on the trip (a lot of tours had a 4 person minimum). Wilder took just the 2 of us on this private tour and it was perfect! He was extremely knowledgable about Mayan history. Afterwards, he took us to a great lunch at a local spot that we would have never found on our own. The food was amazing and he made great recommendations. Then we headed to cave tubing, which was also beautiful and perfect. I'd highly recommend Wilder to anyone looking for a friendly, professional, and knowledgable guide.

5.00Wilder is amazing! So knowledgeable about Belize, the animals and the history! His adventures are a must! We’ve done three separate outings with him and every single one is recommended. Cave tubing, ATV, waterfalls, Xunantunich, all are fantastic! We had a group of all ages and he was able to cater to all! Can’t wait for the next time we visit Belize to go another adventure with Wilder! Hands down, the BEST!

5.00This experience was excellent as it is but our tour guide took it from an 8/10-10/10. When you go make sure you insist that Pablo is your tour guide. He was fun, funny, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. We had a long drive and he used that time to teach us about the culture and the country which was a huge value ad. During the Mayan tour, we had other groups following us because their guide was lame and just walking them through. When you do this tour, INSIST you get Pablo as your guide!

5.00These were by far the BEST excursions we have ever done and we’ve done many! To begin, Wilder is extremely professional, friendly, and prompt. We did an AMAZING ATV tour through the jungle and booked a Mayan ruin with cave tubing the following day. They picked us up at our Airbnb in an incredibly comfortable van, we had informative and engaging tour guides, and the excursions were TOP NOTCH. Do not look anywhere else in Belize because they’re the BEST! Thank you so much for making our family vacation absolutely MAGICAL!
Wilder Adventures Xunantunich and Cave Tubing

5.00I would highly recommend Wilder Adventures. It’s a full day of Mayan history from the time you are picked up to the end of the day. Wilder is an excellent guide. He knows everything about Belize and the ancient Mayan’s. We started our journey from Placencia and headed 2.5 hours to the ruins. In order to get to the ruins you have to take a small manual hand cranked ferry over the river manned by a couple of ferry tenders. Once we got there we took a short hike up the hill and up a short flight of stairs which landed us right in the middle of the ruins. Wilder talked about the history of the site and what each structure represented. We then climbed the top of the largest pyramid at the site. Once you are at the top you can see spectacular views for miles and miles in every direction. Once we were done viewing the area we headed back down the pyramid and looked at a few other structures before heading back to the van. We were there for about 1-1/2 hours. After leaving and going back over the river on the ferry we stopped at a local restaurant where we ate some amazing local food. After that we drove another hour or so to the cave tubing park. We put on more sunscreen and changed into our “get wet” clothes which they have changing rooms so you don’t have to do it in the parking lot. Once we were ready Wilder set us up with life jackets and helmets which had headlamps on them and we started our 30 minute walk to the entrance to the caves. We had to cross the river 3 times in mostly ankle/knee deep water, through the jungle on very well maintained paths until we reached the entrance. We jumped into our tubes and Wilder continued our history lesson while he guided us through the caves and out into the open river. The river was low this time of year however we never had to get off our tubes just a few “butts up” moments. We slowly drifted to the end of the run and made our way back to the van where we gathered our dry clothes, changed and headed back to Placencia. This is a full day tour we started at 7:00am and got back to Placencia at 6:30PM. Again, I would definitely recommend Wilder Adventures for your excursions in Belize. They put a very personal touch on their tours and you leave with not only an education about Belize but you also gain a new friendship.
