Epic coastal hike, lagoon swim, gourmet picnic and koalas and kangaroos. Small, flexible groups with a tailored pace and weather backup.

The day includes a coastal hike in Royal National Park to Wedding Cake Rock or Eagle Rock, a light trail snack along the way, and time at Wattamolla Lagoon for a scenic picnic and optional swim. In the afternoon, we visit Symbio Wildlife Park for the 3 pm koala session, when they’re awake and active, plus time with kangaroos. We also drive the Grand Pacific Drive, stop at Otford Lookout and visit Sea Cliff Bridge.

The hike is around 10 km and moderate, but with very small groups the pace is fully tailored. We can shorten, slow down or make it more challenging. If the weather changes, there’s always a flexible plan B with scenic stops, so you still enjoy a full and beautiful day outdoors.

What sets this tour apart is the balance of real adventure and real care. It’s a small, personal experience shaped around you, not a rushed bus schedule.

Along the way, we’ll stop at the famous Wedding Cake Rock — a striking white sandstone formation perched above the Pacific. It’s one of the most photographed spots in the park and a great place to capture your own unforgettable photos.

Wattamolla

Wattamolla Beach Picnic & Swim After the hike, unwind at Wattamolla Beach, a lagoon-style paradise perfect for a refreshing swim and picnic. Enjoy a spread prepared by a local caterer, featuring local cheeses, marinated olives, freshly made dips, crackers, falafel with hummus, dolmades, and seasonal fruit, paired with refreshing locally brewed kombucha.

This tour was so much fun. Sabina was so kind and customized our itinerary because the weather wasn’t ideal for our planned day. We had a great experience and highly recommend this tour.

Sabina is incredibly charismatic, professional, and fun to talk to. The locations she took us to were all incredible, the r lunches she put together amazing, and she took plenty of pictures along the way and shared them after. I had an amazing time and highly recommend Beyond Guidebook!

Sabina was an incredible guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all the options for hiking, swimming and seeing animals in a safe environment. The lunch she brought was healthy and good protein to keep us energized. My trip was more amazing than I could imagine and her guidance made it so enjoyable. She is world class!!!

Sabina did a great job getting to know me and tailoring the tour to my interests, which were hiking and seeing wildlife. She is very easy to talk to, personable and knowledgeable about the National Park. We found a great overlook along the coast for a nice picnic lunch. She also took videos and photos that she shared after the trip.

it was soo good. Sabina and I had such a good time together and she helped me to see a lot of the australian culture and nature. The hike to the Royal weeding cake outlook was amazing and also the short drives to Wattamolla beach, symbio wildlife park and two other spots were so great. The spots as well!. All in all it was one of the best days here in Australia. I would go on this trip to 100% again especially with Sabina

Had such a great day on this tour! Sabina was super friendly, organised and made the whole experience really fun. The hike was beautiful, the picnic was delicious, and the swimming spot she took us to was stunning. Sabina created such a relaxed vibe and made sure everyone felt included. Highly recommend this day trip!

I recently visited Royal national park with friends and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The scenery was breathtaking, easy hike and we loved swimming there!!! Picking area was clean with beautiful view. Highly recommend!!

I loved this experience. It’s been something I’ve been meaning to do and it was perfect. The day felt effortless, Sabina was an excellent host and guide. Being in nature with a small group made everything feel personal and relaxed. I didn’t realise how much I needed to experience nature in this way. I felt calm and the group was perfect. We were from all walks of life, yet nature has this ability to bring you all together. We had the best conversations, we laughed and connected. There’s something about sharing real moments outdoors that just sticks with you. This isn’t a tour, it’s a shared adventure that leaves you feeling a little lighter, more present, and genuinely connected. I highly recommend and will be doing more experiences like this!

Great tour with very beautiful Australian nature experiences not far from Sydney! During the hike in the Royal National Park we were even lucky to spot a whale and falcon not far from the Wedding Cake-Cliff ! At the stop in Symbio we enjoyed getting a close view of Kangaroos and Koalas. The guide Sabina was super friendly and a very nice to talk to ! Strong recommendation !
