You will start the day at the Montjuïc Mountain, from where you can appreciate the splendid panoramic views of the city. The mountain was a strategy to defend the city against attacks. Now it is home to the famous Miró foundation and the Caixa Forúm. These and other buildings on Montjuïc, perfectly illustrate examples of modern art and contemporary architecture.
Port Vell Barcelone
After Montjuïc you will head to Barcelona’s coast, passing by the Columbus Monument and the Gothic Drassanes. The beach is surrounded by the latest architecture, best represented by the World Trade Centre and the transformed Old Port. 5.00My wife and I was picked up at the Gran Hotel Havana by our tour guide Hengameh and driver Albert, they were on time and ready to entertain us for the day. We drove first to Montserrat through the beautiful countryside while Hengameh gave us a wonderful history lesson about the area. When we arrived we had time to look around before going to see Black Madona. It was an experience walking through the Basilica to touch the globe that Black Madona was holding. Our guide Hengameh gave us the history of the basilica. Hengameh surprised us with a trip to the top of the mountain via a funicular. What a spectacular view it is from the top of the mountain. On our way back to Barcelona, we made an unscheduled stop at a Harley Davison Dealer so I could buy a T-shirt. When we arrive back in Barcelona, we visited the Gothic Quarter and did a walking tour. Hengameh made reservations at El Glop, and recommended the paella. The food was delicious. Afterwards we went to visit Sagrada Familia which Hengameh had a timed ticket and we were able to wait in a very short line. We had plenty of time to walk around on the outside and inside to see everything. I would highly recommend booking a private tour and ask for Hengameh and Albert, they were a great team.

5.00VINCENT IS THE BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER!!! He’s so funny and explained things really well. We were all so engaged because he was enthusiastic and again, sooooo funny!!!!!
