This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in traditional Greek culture and cuisine with a local professional chef. Your warm and welcoming host is not only an expert in Greek cooking, but also genuinely enjoys meeting new people and sharing culinary knowledge. Your experience begins with a brief tour of the on-site gardens, where you'll see firsthand the fresh ingredients that bring Greek cuisine to life—from juicy tomatoes to crisp cucumbers. Then head to a modern cooking studio for a hands-on, farm-to-table cooking class using freshly harvested vegetables, aromatic herbs, and locally sourced ingredients. Under the guidance of your chef, you’ll learn to prepare traditional Santorinian dishes such as fava, tomato fritters, and pork fillets in a Vinsanto wine sauce. Vegetarian? You may instead prepare a local pasta with homemade tomato paste and garlic. The cooking class lasts ~1.5 hours, followed by a delicious meal of the dishes you helped create, enjoyed in a lovely restaurant setting - indoors or outdoors, weather permitting. Your meal will be perfectly paired with volcanic wines from the renowned Artemis Karamolegos Winery and will finish on a sweet note with dessert.

Our Cooking class was amazing and the food was delicious. We were so glad we cooked things that were not expected. We thought we’d be making taziki or gyros, but we ended up making a full meal and dessert! We enjoyed cooking with Chef Chris. He was so good at explaining things and was knowledgable and friendly. He taught us how to cook and gave us many helpful tips. We each were involved in the actual cooking and we all participated in the food prep as well. The ingredients were delicious and grown right there! The room was great size for 6 of us and had a beautiful view of The garden. Eating our dinner was wonderful in the restaurant and the wine was Fabulous!

Quite different from other Traveling Spoon experiences that we’ve had, this is with a professional chef in a gorgeous winery / restaurant (complete with herb and vegetable garden). We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. We learned an enormous amount about Greek cuisine and countless cooking tips from Chef Christos. He was absolutely delightful and a wonderful teacher. He provided expert guidance throughout as evidenced by the fact that our meal was phenomenal. We picked herbs from their garden with Philippos who also treated us to an amazing tour of the winery. During the cooking experience, we “sampled” each course and after the winery tour, we were treated to a sit down meal of our recipes overlooking the water. There are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe how wonderful this experience is!!

Amazing local cooking experience using ingredients from the garden. Kris was hilarious and really helped out into perspective the culture and history behind the local ingredients that we used. The winery tour after was awesome too - such beautiful grounds and delicious drinks. Everyone who stays in Santorini should take this cooking class. Thanks again Kris and Phillip!

Absolutely amazing! It exceeded my expectations. I booked for our last day in Greece and I couldn’t recommended it more! Such a beautiful wineary and kitchen and everything was so clean! The chef was amazing and walked us through everything you can tell he enjoys what he does! We had free wine throughout the class which was a plus! And after we got to eat more food and have more wine! 10/10

Christos was a wonderful chef and instructor! My daughter (15), mother (73), and I (48) all throughly enjoyed this class. Recipes were included to take home (too bad I can’t get those delicious tomatoes in the USA). Highly recommend!!

I was a little concerned with the price for this cooking class before booking, but it is definitely worth it. The description doesn’t do it justice. The class is held at Aroma Avlis which is the restaurant of the winery Artemis Karamolegos. The restaurant and gardens are gorgeous! We arrived a little early and they greeted us with a glass of wine of our choice and allowed us to hang out on the patio until the class started. The class was lead by chef Chris and assistant Phillip who were both very knowledgeable about Greek cuisine and wine. They both made the class so fun! Chris is VERY passionate about food and clearly loved sharing his knowledge with us. We first made fava, followed by Greek salad, tomato fritters, and pork tenderloin with vinsanto wine sauce. The class was more demonstration than active cooking but we didn’t care. We helped slice the veggies, blend the fava, mix the salad, and fry the fritters. We sampled each of the dishes as they finished. The fava and tomato fritters were the best things we ate on our entire trip! SO DELICIOUS! In addition, Philip poured us wine the entire duration of the class. We easily killed an entire bottle between my fiancé and I. After the class ended, Philip took us on a tour of the cellar and bottling facility, then invited us back to the restaurant where they served us the remainder of what was prepped during the cooking class PLUS a bottle of wine and a desert. The experience felt so luxurious. We were so full, and pretty drunk (lol) by the end. We had a lot of left over food so they provided to-go boxes and even a cork for the bottle of wine we didn’t finish. Overall, this was an amazing cooking class that is well worth the price. Ive done cooking classes in Japan, Korea, Thailand, Mexico, Spain, and this class was hands down one of my favorite experiences.
