What To Expect
Catedral De Sal
We will begin our adventure in the majestic Cathedral of Salt of Zipaquirá. Built inside a former salt mine, this underground cathedral is a masterpiece of religious architecture and a symbol of the Catholic faith. We will tour its different seasons and tell you the story of its construction.
Museo de la Sal
Before entering the cathedral, we will visit the Salt Museum, where we will learn about the salt extraction process and its importance in the economy of the region. We can see old tools and objects made of salt.

5.00Sebastian, our guide, and Jesus our driver were excellent! Sebastian shared a lot of knowledge about the indigenous people and their culture before the walk up to the Lagoon. It really helped us appreciate the experience more! He recommended good place to lunch and must see portions of the salt cathedral.

5.00Milly and Freddy were great. Milly knows a lot of history about the places we visited. The places are beautiful. It is a very long day. We left at 7:25 am and didn't get back to the hotel till 10:30pm. There were 14 passengers total- the transportation was comfortable, but would recommend making the group to 10 ppl. Too many drop offs and picks up that wasted a couple of hours each way.

4.00First of all I would like to thanks Johan and Carlos (our guide and driver) they were great and took a great care of us during all trip. About the trip itself, the little hike around lagoon was really nice with beautiful nature and views. The salt cathedral is an interesting place, however it didn’t impress me as much as I expected. Just don’t plan anything for the evening as the trip can prolong and take you more then 10 hours (for us it was almost 14)

5.00Good itinerary, you need the whole day to do it. There is a 400m hike to see the lake starting at 2800 m so you need to be prepared for it. The van picked us up at the other end of the hike so 'going back' was not an option. That being said, it is not the very hard hike and it is worth it.
