Royal Palace of Madrid
Since the royal family only uses it for official receptions, the Royal Palace and its over 3000 rooms are open to the public. Your engaging guide will show you the famous main staircase, designed by Sabatini, which includes over 70 steps. You’ll head into the Throne Room, and admire the ceiling painted by Tiepolo, and the Hall of Alabarderos, dedicated to the palace guards. You will be able to enjoy along the way artists such as Goya, Mengs or Giaquinto, and even take a close look at the symbols of the Spanish monarchy: the crown and the scepter.You will also discover a complete set of stringed instruments made by the legendary Antonio Stradivari. 5.00Over the past five decades a visit to the Prado has been high on my bucket list. With the superb Angel as our guide, my patience was amply rewarded with a wonderful survey of European—mostly Spanish of course—from the early Renaissance through Goya. Angel is a gifted teacher, expertly weaving great art and fascinating historical context, Hapsburg, Bourbon, etc. The history of Spain. Examples : how to observe The Washing of the Feet by Tintoretto, Botticelli’s Escenas de La Histoire de Nastagio deli Onesti, The Spinners and Las Meninas of Velasquez. And all of the amazing Goya, beyond expectations. Visiting the Prado is a treat; with Angel, a transcendent experience!

5.00The tour was amazing! We did indeed skip the long line and walked in through the separate group entrance on the side. Our guide Isabella had a great personality and shared a lot of her knowledge with us. But most importantly she was very kind and attentive to our 6-year old and kept him entertained the entire 2.5 hours. Thank you!

5.00We booked a semi private tour but it ended up being private. Sean was a fantastic guide. He spent time with us outside the Palace, inside the armory exhibit and in the Palace. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. We learned so much about Spanish (and world) history on the tour. Highly recommended!
