See a whole new side of Moraine Lake—peaceful, uncrowded, and lit by the beauty of sunset and the stars. This evening adventure takes you beyond the typical daytime experience, combining stunning landscapes, wildlife viewing, and one of the best stargazing spots in Banff National Park.
Your journey begins along the Bow Valley Parkway, with chances of spotting wildlife, and a stop at Morant’s Curve. Take a guided walk along the lakeshore trail and soak in the quiet beauty of the lake as the surrounding peaks glow in warm sunset colors. Then, we’ll make our way up to the rockpile for the best panoramic views as the sky transitions from day to night.
With minimal light pollution, Moraine Lake offers incredible stargazing. We’ll use telescopes and binoculars to get a closer look at planets, constellations, and even the northern lights if conditions are right.
If you want to escape the crowds and enjoy Moraine Lake in a way most visitors never do, this tour is for you.

I had a blast on this excursion. Tobias was an amazing guide, not only showing us the unbelievable beauty of the areas we explored, but educated us on the background and history at each stop. When it came to climbing up to the top of the "Rockpile" to watch the sunset and star gaze, I was leary because I'm 72. But Tobias had walking sticks for the non-climbers, and he had hand warmers to keep us all comfortable. He showed us how to take amazing time lapse photos of the stars, explaining the different constellations and placement of the major stars. The best part was when he had us all stay quiet for a few minutes to enjoy the sounds of silence, which was magical! This excursion exceeded my expectations, and it was because of Tobias!

At first I thought that Moraine sunset is not as cool as Moraine sunrise but it was a different experience. Booking this tour is a stress free experience instead of driving at Lake Louise Village for a pick up and even being on wait list of Parks Canada shuttle this tour is one for the books. The luxury of being pick up and drop off at the door step of your hotel lobby is best first and last experience. Our tour guide Sebastian was very knowledgeble about the tour and gives us extra trivias about Banff. Making the group lively and happy is a talent. He make sure to greet and meet us with a smile. Sunset at Lake Moraine is quite chilly but if you have the best company with you it would not matter. We are personally serve with the choice of hot chocolate or coffee. And we are given this foam pads so we can seat properly on the rocks while watching the sunset. Overall the experience was perfect, even if a bit cloudy. Sebastian even took an extra mile to drive us to Lake Louise lakeshore for a few minutes so we can see more stars. I suggest to book this tour in clear skies and check for northen lights forecast because they are very flexible with time . I am so excited for this tour company because they are the one of the newest tours in Banff and you can feel how personal and hands on the team is. Good luck and more power to you guys!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely incredible. This was my favorite thing I did while in Banff, even though it was overcast and we didn’t see any stars! It was just so magical to be at Moraine Lake when it was so peaceful. Our little group were the only people there! Sebastian is an incredible guide. He was so knowledgeable and funny. He went out of his way to make the whole event extra special.

Loved the Sunset/Stargazing experience with our tour guide, Laura! It was amazing to be up there all by ourselves (11 other tour participants) as Moraine Lake can be incredibly crowded during the day. Unfortunately, the weather/clouds did not cooperate and it never cleared up. However, Laura was wonderful and shared SO much information and tips with us for the duration of our visit and future hikes. She gave us information on visiting Kananakis which we did the next day and LOVED!! Visited a store she recommended and took some notes about places to visit and stay for our next trip. Our only regret is not booking the tour earlier in our trip so we could’ve taken advantage of more of what she shared with us. Thank you Laura and Into the Wild!

Lake Louise gets hideously busy, and Lake Moraine can only be accessed via private tours or shuttle buses now. So we were very happy to go on this tour in the evening, when most people have left. Moraine is stunning, especially when quieter and it was great to be there at sunset and to see the stars. Even though the weather was pretty bad on our night (and we got quite cold and wet), we enjoyed our tour. Laura our guide was great - very knowledgeable, passionate about the landscape & wildlife, friendly, and eager to make it the best possible experience for us. We were lent rain capes & walking poles and the hot chocolate was very welcome. Laura helped us get some great shots of the Milky Way in the moments when the rainclouds parted. there's always a risk the weather will not cooperate, but on a clear night, this would be a spectacular tour. Just FYI you do get back to Banff quite late, but the hotel drop off was appreciated.

This is a pretty long excursion, but it’s worth it! Tobias was our guide. He was funny, personable, and full of local facts. The evening was cloudy, but we were still able to catch auroras with my camera. Tobias was super knowledgeable with the camera and what we were seeing in the night sky. It’s a rocky climb that isn’t too long, but it’s important to dress for the hike and weather.

Tobias was an excellent host! Incredibly prepared! Poncho’s, hand warmers, hot drinks! You’re at the mercy of the weather but he was patient and the clouds cleared and we had a great time!
