See a whole new side of Moraine Lake—peaceful, uncrowded, and lit by the beauty of sunset and the stars. This evening adventure takes you beyond the typical daytime experience, combining stunning landscapes, wildlife viewing, and one of the best stargazing spots in Banff National Park.
Your journey begins along the Bow Valley Parkway, with chances of spotting wildlife, and a stop at Morant’s Curve. Take a guided walk along the lakeshore trail and soak in the quiet beauty of the lake as the surrounding peaks glow in warm sunset colors. Then, we’ll make our way up to the rockpile for the best panoramic views as the sky transitions from day to night.
With minimal light pollution, Moraine Lake offers incredible stargazing. We’ll use telescopes and binoculars to get a closer look at planets, constellations, and even the northern lights if conditions are right.
If you want to escape the crowds and enjoy Moraine Lake in a way most visitors never do, this tour is for you.

This trip was absolutely the highlight of our time in Banff. As first time visitors, we really appreciated having someone with as much knowledge and experience in the area, as our guide Pablo. He was sociable and easy going, with ability to talk about a wide range of topics. He was doing this all while driving very comfortably on the road. It was really nice to take a break from driving and be able to kick back and take everything in fully. The lakes were stunning beyond expectations. 1 hour was enough time at each lake to complete an easy walk/hike with an epic viewpoint and photo opportunities galore. Being able to learn some of the history and details about the ecosystem that we were immersed in was really memorable. I will look back fondly on this visit.

The guide was great and showed us the sites. It's a bit of a drive so I would plan this as a now relaxing part of your trip. We did see some elk and a black bear though! Once you get to each lake you have about an hour to explore which is just enough time to take some pictures of the scenery from great viewpoints. The ride back was chill but the best part was meeting a new travel friend! Definitely recommend!
