We are the longest-running surf school in Widemouth Bay, and we pride ourselves on our safety standards. Throughout our fun-filled sessions, you'll be supplied with the tuition and knowledge from our experienced Surf coaches, to help you progress to your best abilities.

Widemouth Bay itself is also a beautiful, blue-flag beach, with a large car park, and a great cafe. This beach is also lifeguarded within the year by the RNLI.

The sandy beach also allows great conditions for beginners to learn, along with some more challenging peaks for intermediates to practice further.

We operate from Widemouth Bay, the long sandy beach is an epic and perfect location to learn to surf or to improve your technique. Whether joining us alone, in a family, or with a group of friends, our friendly and experienced team is fun and enthusiastic and is dedicated to giving you the best experience in the water. If you are looking to surf for the first time or even to improve your technique, then our coaches are experienced in making the most of your session. We cover how to carry a surfboard, catch a wave, and different ways to stand up. We break the 2-hour lesson down into valuable coaching time on the beach as well as extensive water time to make the most of practicing your skills. With all our years of experience, we have plenty of tips and tricks to enable you to progress to your feet as quickly as possible. Our coaches can pick up on the slightest mistake and advance you past that and onto your feet in no time! We provide the specialist equipment, such as wetsuits and boards, however we do require you to bring your own swimwear and towel.

Great from start to finish. Arrived a little late as we broke down! But rang and they were happy to wait for us. Joe was brilliant very knowledgeable, encouraging and friendly. The weather was wild but had the best time. Will definitely book again when we return!! Thank you x

I was apprehensive at first as a surf lesson was so far out of my comfort zone but the guys were really knowledgeable and friendly. Joe was an especially good coach. Really enjoyed it and would definitely go again.

The lesson was fantastic. My daughter was not a beginner, and so was put in the improver session. This meant she had loads of time in the water. The tutor was extremely helpful and encouraging. Would definitely recommend.

The staff were absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly, welcoming and so helpful. The views were stunning and the breakfast was top notch. Can’t recommend a stay here enough. The surf lessons were spot on. The instructors were highly knowledgeable and supportive. They got me riding waves and standing up after the first lesson.

A great first surfing experience for our teenager. Easy booking online. Answered any queries by email first. They work well with the tide times. Widemouth Bay was a good beach to be able to watch from.

What an amazing experience, we booked a private lesson for 4 children of varying ages and the patients and commitment from a lovely lady instructor teaching them was outstanding. I can not recommend this company for the professionalism and quality of lesson they delivered. I emailed and asked some questions for them and other rival companies and OA surf school was the only company to actually call me back and explain everything to me for my million and 1 questions. When we return for our next family visit we will definitely be booing further lessons. Thank you all for making memories for our family.

I can’t recommend this surf school highly enough! From the moment I arrived, the team made me feel completely welcome. Jake, (the instructor) is not only incredibly friendly, but also clearly passionate about what he does — his knowledge of surfing techniques is second to none. He took the time to explain everything in a clear, encouraging way, making it easy to feel confident no matter your experience level. Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to improve your skills, you’re in the best hands here. The time in the water was fantastic — lots of hands-on practice, constant support from the instructor and just the right balance of guidance and freedom to learn at your own pace. Catching waves with them cheering you on is something I won’t forget any time soon. It’s not just a lesson; it’s an experience. Rob was a fantastic coach for my 13 year old daughter and my 11 year old sons first ever surf lesson … they had an amazing time. Thank you so much for your patience and encouragement especially as my son was quite nervous before getting in the water…. This lesson has definitely contributed to my children’s water and now surfing confidence - they’ve now got the surfing bug x

Fantastic surfing lessons for the whole family , patient, fun instructors ( Jake and Teddy were brilliant!) After a couple of lessons we hired boards to keep practising. Booking process easy and given a discount code on subsequent lessons. We will be back. Thank you.
