Only an hour and a half from the city of Medellin, is the place most visited by our travelers, La Piedra del Peñol, one of the most beautiful monoliths of the world with 220 meters of height and an unparalleled view of the Peñol-Guatape reservoir.
In this experience you will enjoy an unforgettable landscape while traveling by boat one of the most important dams that contribute to the energetic supply of Colombia. You will also have the possibility to climb the 740 steps that take you to one of the most impressive views of the reservoir. To culminate the day perfectly, you will explore one of the most colorful and beautiful villages of our country where you will cross the street of memories, the plaza of the zócalos, the boardwalk and its main park.

Replica of the old town of El Peñol, before being covered by the waters of the Guatapé Reservoir. You will find a great assortment of handicrafts in premises attended by their own owners, very friendly and affectionate.

5.00This tour was quite enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the boat tour of the reservoir with the history of that region. Guatape and El Peñón de Guatapé were beautiful.

5.00Well-done tour, very organized, and very much worth the money! Just the right amount of activities, and the drive was through some very beautiful areas, and the main stops were awesome as well. You get a simple breakfast and lunch, and they were both fine. My only knock on the tour was that the English that was spoken was extremely hard to understand, as other reviewers have noted, and I got about 20% of it I think. But on balance, an awesome tour and worth your time!

3.00Unfortunately I was really disappointed with this tour. I was unable to learn any history or information about the places visited. Though it stated the tour would be in English, the tour guide spoke fast as ever and kept speaking in English then Spanish quickly with little to no transitions to even make out what she was saying. My friend and others complained to each other that we could understand little of nothing said. I wouldn't do the tour again. It was great to go to the physical places, but I could have just taken a car service if I just wanted a ride quite frankly.

4.00It was a very good excursion. Considering the amount of time , we saw a lot and I recommend everyone to visit these places - and if you’re short on time , this is the best day trip. I personally didn’t like being with such a big group on a big bus - everything slows down and becomes somewhat impersonal. Because of this size I also couldn’t hear most of the time what our guide was explaining. I loved the boat trip but didn’t appreciate the loud music (but that’s personal again because I prefer silence in nature). Maybe we could’ve had lunch on our own in Guatapé-it’s such a lovely town and I feel like we could’ve spent more time there. Overall though , it was a well organized excursion that gifted me a relaxing day as I didn’t have to plan anything- they even pick and drop off at the hotel, and breakfast and lunch are included.
