Discover two of Transylvania's most stunning castles on this day-long adventure: Bran Castle, a 13th-century hilltop fortress known as "Dracula's Castle," and Peles Castle, a masterpiece of Neo-Renaissance architecture. On this day trip, you'll be ferried by climate-controlled bus to both landmarks, and will also have the chance to wander the medieval city of Brasov.
Please note: Peleș Castle will be closed for general cleaning and preventive conservation from November 3 to December 2, 2025. If time allows and you’d like to, you can visit Pelișor Castle instead — it’s right nearby! Otherwise, you’ll still have some free time around Peleș Castle to stroll through the beautiful area and snap some postcard-perfect photos.

They changed the pickup location and time the night before. I was at requires location but nobody picked me up. WhatsApp the “emergency number” but it appeared to be AI. After 42 minutes interaction with the AI, I gave up. Terrible experience, this was the only tour I have in Romania and I booked the entrance tickets myself.

The places visited were amazing. It is a fairly long time traveling on the coach but for what you see, it is 100% worth it. Anna our tour guide was wonderful, so friendly and knowledgeable.

We purchased this tour a few days before leaving for Bucharest and were satisfied with the service. The bus was punctual, respecting the stop and the scheduled times. The inside of the bus was not very comfortable as the seats were tight and some parts were broken/not working, but considering the price of the tour it could fit. The itinerary was carried out as indicated, but the real highlight was our escort Florentina. She is a simply exquisite woman, speaks really well in Italian and was kind, nice and exhaustive.

Overall a good trip to the castles and Brasov as this was not something we would have done by ourselves. The day was long but organised in a way that you had stops off to break it down which meant it didn’t feel that long. Lulia our guide was very good, gave great commentary for just the right amount of time.

What a day! Incredibly hectic once we got to our locations but certainly an insightful day packed full of history and charm. Angelica our guide and Niko our driver were faultless. Niko was a sturdy and consistent driver and even slowed down as we were passing the Heroes Cross and Cantacuzino Castle (where season 1 of Wednesday was filmed) so that we were able to see and take photos. Angelica was a fantastic tour guide, detailing the history of Romania as well as Peles and Bran Castles history as we travelled, she was honest with managing our expectations, making it clear that we would be free to roam once inside the castles and to make sure we didn't miss out on seeing more of the castle rooms by getting stuck behind other tour guides. My little group had been unsuccessful in purchasing entry to Peles castle beforehand, but she communicated with other tour guides and was able to get us tickets even though the website said it was sold out. She was also dutifully strict with her time keeping, we had some amblers in our group at the first rest stop and she made it clear that if we are late to meet ups, this affects every other step of the tour, and reiterated this at every other stopping point, which was helpful as I certainly wanted to make the most of the day. She gave us tips on where the best spots were for photos of both castles, recommendations for lunch and suitable rest rooms spots at each stopping point as well, and was on hand to answer trivia questions about the castles and the history of Romania. Onto the areas themselves: Peles Castle is definitely the one you don't want to miss. The outside and garden views are stunning, with a nice little cafe for coffee which helps with the cold. My friends and I enjoyed the different sculptures in the garden. Once inside the castle, it is very full of people, you will be cramped and you will have minimal time to whizz through and marvel at the wonderful construction of the place. I was luckily with friends who have good phone cameras and can take photos on the fly but you won't have much time to set up shots. That being said it was still marvelous. Brasov is a lovely little town, was very festive when we went and the Christmas market certainly made for a nice meeting point. We all got a reasonable lunch and some snacks for the road. En route to Bran Castle, Angelica told us the history of Bran Castle and its rather loose inspiration for Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (again, helping to manage expectations) as well as the history of Vlad 'the Impaler' and his family. Bran Castle is certainly much more humble than Peles Castle and our tour guide made this clear. The rooms are altogether plainer and the walkways more narrow, it feels like an active working environment over the splendour of Peles. Still, we had a fantastic time and saw some more wonderful views out the rooftop of the castle, and the rooms themselves were homely and charming. Again, it was very crowded, but we had a little more time here as we had made good time on the way. We got the 'skip-the-queue' ticket which included the 'Time Tunnel' and 'Torture Chamber' viewing options, which considering the length of the queue when we got there, immediately paid for itself. The time tunnel was fine, a quirky addition to a tourist attraction as a means of seeming relevant. The torture chamber was also quite interesting, examples of devices, illustrations and plaques of what they were used for, and because this was an 'add-on' ticket this section was less crowded. There was also a tent out in the Bran Castle gardens which had a medieval set of actors performing various professions, such as ironmongery, needlework and jousting. In summary, Hollywood often has a way of romanticising things so if you're looking for a big historical representation of Dracula's castle, complete with bat wings, pipe organs and lightning crashing, you'll need to combine the castles in your mind and take it with a pinch of salt (my visit was motivated by a very different type of vampire whose lodgings took direct inspiration from Peles Castle, and for that, I felt like I had actively stepped into that world - if just for a moment). That being said, the castles themselves were a fantastic peek into history, and I for one had a great time. Thoroughly recommend!

We chose this tour company based on the fact that it looked organised and trustworthy. Indeed, we did not experience any issues so we have no complaints. We had a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable tour guide (Angelica) and a comfortable journey in the bus with heating. Regarding the sightseeing itself, we would like to see Brasov last so we could get to see a bit of the Christmas lights that looked spectacular. We unfortunately did not manage to get tickets to Peles Castle as it was sold out. The Bran Castle did not impress us - too crowded for such a small place. Overall it was a good daytrip and a great opportunity to see a new country but not spectacular.

My expectations were high and they were met. There were a few stops before the castle that I initially thought were worthless but found great value. The castle itself was worthwhile. Overall, it’s worth going out of your way.

Beautiful experience, our guide Florence, was a great travel companion with his stories about the monuments and history of Romania, very exhaustive. Always very helpful even at the end of the tour when we forgot our gadgets on the bus, he did not hesitate to put us in touch with the driver who waited for us with great patience to let us retrieve the bag. Thanks again.
