5.00We chose this trip as a shorter drive than going out to Yala and as on a cruise port stop off, we wanted to make the most of our time seeing the animals rather than travelling. Thoroughly enjoyed our day with our experienced driver, and guide Samir. Saw lots of wildlife including elephants, water buffalo, monkeys and local birds of prey. Samir was great at spotting things and shared his knowledge and bird book when we came across unusual birds of prey. One of the highlights for us was feeding time at the elephant orphanage. An entertaining watch, specially the older ones teenage antics😂 Excellent day out and good value for money.

5.00Great communication before day. Irrespective of booked time they will accept as soon as you arrive. Entry fees can only be in LKA so stop at ATM en-route. Drive to park from port took 1 1/2 hours but able to see local communities so enjoyable. Orphanage was lovely, lots of baby elephants being fed and treated with kindness. Safari can take several hours and is very bumpy, but lots of birds and WILD elephants to see in their natural habitat. Our driver. Imal was considerate and explained all species of birds and elephants. A very enjoyable day, would definitely recommend.

5.00Ishan was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and birds. This was a very enjoyable trip visiting the elephant orphanage and then onto Udawalawa Safari Park. Wild Dreams Tours were very reliable and communication was excellent

5.00Wow. What a fantastic excursion. We were greeted at the cruise terminal and taken to an open jeep. The journey to the reserve was pleasant and we were taken care of with water and snacks. At the reserve our guide was very informative with all the native flora, fauna and wildlife. It was so lovely to see animals in their natural habitat. Free to roam and be wild. The ELEPHANTS were unbelievable. The respect shown by the guide to the animals was excellent. We were kept a good distance and when they were getting close to us we were moved quietly away to let them have the space they needed. The orphanage was a lovely addition. With a great gift shop of genuine local crafts. The way back to the terminal was brilliant. Where we stopped off for a drink of king coconut and a corn each. I would highly recommend this excursion if on a cruise. A great price and you will have so much fun!

5.00Had the best day in Hambantota. Our guide Madu made sure we received the best experience and we got back to the ship in plenty of time. We managed to see lots of elephants in the park and enjoyed the elephants feeding time at the orphanage.

5.00The Udawalawe safari is a great experience! An eagle, an alligator and many other species have been seen. Prepare to be shaken up in the 4x4, but the adventure is worth it. The highlight is a visit to the elephant orphanage: at mealtime, they can be seen arriving in an Indian queue, being fed, and then leaving. It’s touching to know that once they’re back on their feet, they’re released into the wild. An experience not to be missed!

5.00A very nice day with our guide Sakun, who not only ensured a smooth and safe transfer, but also knew very well in the park and showed us so many different animals and especially many elephants.
