The iconic symbol of Osaka in the Kansai region of central Japan played an important role in the unification of Japan during the samurai era of the sixteenth century. WE DO NOT ENTER OSAKA CASTLE.

Amerika-mura - or Amemura to the locals - is a warren of narrow streets which is at the heart of youth culture in Osaka, with dozens of shops catering to fans of urban apparel and hip-hop wear. But even if you’re not clothes-shopping, there are plenty of foreigner-friendly bars and restaurants in the area.

5.00A great way to hear the history of both ancient and recent events in the places we visited. Kenzo, our guide, was a fountain of info. The gruesome and the spooky were all included. A very memorable tour.

5.00Kenzo our tour guide was fantastic. This is a very slow paced walk with lots of stops where Kenzo will provide detailed info about the various hotspots that you visit. Kenzo is happy to answer any additional questions you may have about Japanese culture so it's really great value when you learn more about the city and the country than the tour provides by default. Highly recommended.

5.00We had a fun walking tour with Scott. Very much enjoyed visiting the castle and hearing about the history of it. Scott walked us through parts of the city we wouldn’t have gotten to without his guidance. It was easy walking, nothing strenuous. I am very thankful to Anna and Scott for helping me navigate the railway system in Osaka 🙏

5.00Scott took us on a fascinating tour of Osaka, in a small group. Lots of interesting historical references to the sites we were seeing, so we all learned about Japanese history, culture and the way of life along the way. There were plenty of opportunities for some retail therapy en route and the lunch provided was just what we needed. Thanks for a great day, and for providing directions on how to get back to Kyoto!

5.00Osaka walking tour was just incredible! Scott demonstrated a profound knowledge of Japanese history and culture, was very friendly and considerate. The tour was a perfect blend of history, street sightseeing and some gastronomy. It was very interesting to hear the presentation by expat embedded in the society. Scott just deeply loves his city, and I started loving it as well. I highly recommend to book a tour with Hungry Osaka, and good luck having Scott as your guide!
