Nara Park
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City and is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world-famous temples. These tame creatures are believed to be sacred messengers of the Shinto gods and walk freely in Nara. Over time, these cute deers have learned to bow to visitors-a sign for a treat. For over 1,300 years, humans and deer have peacefully coexisted in Nara. Today, they are protected as Natural Monuments, and revered as holy animals in Nara.
There are around 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine, to worship the Shinto god of rice, Inari. The shrine is renowned for Senbon Torii, thousands of vermilion red torii gates, which create a stunning and immersive tunnel-like pathway up the sacred Mount Inari. In the 1300 years since its establishment in 711AD, people have gathered here to pray for bountiful harvests, business prosperity, the safety of their home and family, and the fulfillment of all other wishes.

A tour that covers a lot of cultural ground in a day. Lucy keeps the tour moving and her guests engaged. Well worth the time and money. Highly recommended

Amy the guide was great! Good way to see many sites around Kyoto with ease. We loved Arishyama the most and all the great temples, food and bamboo forest.

Sofia was very knowledgeable with the history and backgrounds of the places we visited. She was very detailed with aspects of the tour. For "the tour" itself: 9 hours seems long, but apparently it is NOT. I wish we could spend more time. Nara is a beautiful place that deserves a full day in itself to fully enjoy. The tour bus is comfortable, but you will find yourself being herded in and herded out. Nara was so packed with tourists! If you follow the herd's pace, you will not get to see anything! Once dropped off, we had to quickly find a restaurant, gobbled down yummy sushi, and pretty much speed walked the bridge and bamboo forest. Like any new experience for a 1st timer, you need to get with a tour guide to show you the places. Then, subsequent trips you can go at your own pace and really enjoy the time.

This is a highlights tour so you don't have a ton of time at each spot. But it wasn't rushed so we felt satisfied with what we saw and did. We were lucky that our group always gathered on time so we were even able to get some extra time at the last stop. Our tour guide Frederick was the highlight of the tour. He's so enthusiastic and so fun that he made the whole day. He also seamlessly switched between two languages which was very impressive. He was willing to go above and beyond for folks who had other questions or needed suggestions. A fabulous tour guide!

Great way to see some of the amazing places that Kyoto has to offer. It was very crowded everywhere. The time lotted for each place didn't seem enough. Our guide, Sofia, was very pleasant.

Cost effective and convenient way of getting around the places I wanted to see in Kyoto and not waste time figuring out transportation. Amy, our guide, made a cloudy day brighter!
