VanDusen Botanical Garden
Along with the wondrous plants this garden holds, the VanDusen Botanical Garden also houses a significant sculpture collection that featuring artists such as Bill Reid, David Marshall, and Sebastian. The International Sculpture Symposium, held here in 1975, created 11 original works to begin the permanent collection and it has expanded since then. For the architecture lovers, the Garden's multi-award winning LEED Platinum Visitor Centre was named Most Sustainable Building of the Year in 2014. Shaped like an orchid when viewed from above, its organic lines echo the way nature and conservation have been considered at every turn. VanDusen has something for everyone to enjoy! Depending on the season, one can see different plants in bloom. One can spend an hour or two looking around. A lot of local, North American and worldwide plants on display.

Gorgeous blooms throughout. Calming walk. Interesting teaching garden. Fun maze. Don’t miss the various sculptures; of note: big owl, totem poles, and sitting fisherman.

The Gardens are just gorgeous with such a variety of foliage and flowers. The paths are easily navigated and not too difficult. Plenty of shade so you do not get too hot. One of my favorite areas was where they categorized plants by their uses. For example all the plants that could be grown and used in curry or to make fabric dye or put in your curry etc I took lots of photos and will add many of those plants to our herb garden in the spring. Well done again Canada!!

We felt it was limited access for using a wheelchair and the Signage overall was poor. What we did see was nice.

The gardens were beautiful and one of the best I've been too. Very well manicured and identified. The maze was fun although I'm not sure we made it to the middle. Some sort of sign in the middle would be nice to have, but fun none the less. Map was helpful in guiding us through the gardens to ensure we had seen all there was to see.
