Join us guided wildlife tour to see the indigenous wild cats of South Africa and other local wildlife at Tenikwa in Plettenberg Bay. Photograph Lions, Leopard, Cheetahs, Serval, Caracal and African Wildcats. Other animals include Meerkats, Warthog and African Penguins. This is a unique opportunity to get close to wildlife, learn about their struggle to survive in the wild and support a wildlife rehabilitation centre treating wildlife and returning them to the wild where they belong.

Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre
Our Wild Cat Experience is a 1 Hour Guided tour. We offer close encounters which allows you to enter most of our enclosures and meet our indigenous African Wild Cats up close. We do not allow any touching on this tour. You will see African Wild Cat, Servals, Caracals, Cheetah, Leopard, Lions and more. Sightings are guaranteed. The tour starts and ends at Tenikwa Reception. You will be met by Our Guide after checking in at Reception. From here you will enter the presentation room to view a short visual presentation of our Facility and protocols. Afterwards our guide will take you on the Wild Cat Experience tour.

5.00Nice experience! We learned a lot about the wildcats and received great information. It is a non-profit organization. The wildcats live in large enclosures. Nice facility and meaningful project.

5.00We had a wonderful two nights in the Lion Cabins (yes, they roar too – in the afternoon and early morning!). Wonderful! Very, very friendly staff (thanks to Davidson and his colleagues!). What a beautiful place where so much good is done for injured or neglected animals! And for those who want to do something for themselves: we also used the new (open since May 2025) spa and really enjoyed the massages!

5.00My recent tour at Enikwa Wildlife Awareness started half an hour late due to a lack of other visitors (mid-week). However, the experience itself was very educational, particularly the incredibly close encounters with a leopard and cheetah.

5.00The guide was able to explain the impact that this organisation has on these animals and the community at large. Also seeing how the animals were well taken care of was good to witness. I for one even saw cats that I did not know existed and every single moment about the tour was educational. It was a lovely experience and would definitely recommend that people visit this place even with their families as safety precautions are also followed to the max
