Yala National Park

Yala is the area best known for its variety of wild animals in the Southern coastal belt. An undisturbed home of Sri Lankan elephants, leopards & aquatic birds. In order to grab the best, we'll start early (5 AM) from Mirissa, Weligama & suburbs. Upon arrival at the meeting point you'll move to an open concept safari jeep. Yala hosts a variety of ecosystems ranging from moist monsoon forests to freshwater & marine wetlands. It's one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (215 species including 6 endemic species). The number of mammals that has been recorded is 44. It has one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Our experienced trekker will direct you to the spots for Terrestrial animals such as Elephants, Sloth bears, Wild water buffaloes, Axis deers, Monkeys, Reptiles such as Monitors, Crocodiles & wide range of birds. You'll serve you a simple/homemade breakfast. Upon completion we'll reach back where started along with the nice memories grabbed across the experience.

Worth every penny. The drive up there was comfortable. The safari lasted even more then 4 hour. The nature was breath taking. i ve saw plenty of animals:elephants, buffalos, jackal. Deer, monkeys And a plenty of beautiful birds. And the customer service was top notch Very polite and responsive.

Great trip! Beautiful place with loads of wildlife, very good value for money! Also, there is obviously other groups around the park but it’s not overwhelming and I was worried they would impede on the animals, but that’s not the case!

We went on a Yala safari with drivers from tuktukdude. Both drivers were kind and polite, and at the beginning of the trip we had a delicious breakfast, which was a great start to the day. In the park itself, we transferred to a jeep (we were only two passengers), paid for admission, and the driver showed us various animals until almost sunset. We even saw a sleeping leopard, which is very rare, and in the evening, we discovered a peaceful fairy-tale world where deer, monkeys, eagles, and other birds live their lives and interact with each other. There were enough visitors, but the large area meant that it did not feel crowded. The driver was in a great hurry when we had the opportunity to see a leopard, so that he could share his impressions with us. I recommend this safari to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. It is a wonderful experience and an opportunity to get a little closer to nature.

In the first half, there were only three elephants and all birds, but at the end we saw a leopard! The driver, Sasanka, did his best.

Everything was smooth from the pick up to drop. They were extremely punctual as well. What really stood out was their attentiveness — they made sure everyone felt included and went out of their way to answer questions and offer tips for the rest of our trip.

Great experience! Pick-up and drop-off were arranged seamlessly and I felt safe during the drives. The Yala Safari was simply amazing, we saw so many animals thanks to our guide. Communication was very quick and easy via WhatsApp.

The trip went smooth and pleasant🙂 The vehicle was comfy and the driver Udaya was a real professional. And we also had great time at the safari with our jeep driver. It was an incredible experience to see all the animals in the wild nature, even without seeing a leopard who was too far away from us.

Would recommend this safari tour! We did the pick up from Mirissa, everything was well organised and the pick up and drop offs ran smoothly. The guide was super informative and we managed to see a leopard and elephants among other animals. Breakfast was tasty and the tour company was easy to contact to get additional information from. Thanks again!
