This day trip to Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn offers free hotel pick-up service in Amsterdam. This unique tour has maximum 8 persons* per group, so we can have full focus on each individual traveller. A luxury and comforable mini van (Mecedes brand) will wait for you in front of your hotel. A bottled water will be provided to each traveller. Power bank, umbrella are provided and free to use during whole trip.

In the morning, you would visit a Dutch cheese factory, a wooden shoe factory and enjoy a royal diamond demonstration at Zaanse Schans; After that we will travel to Giethoorn, you would discover the 'Green Venice' of Holland and enjoy one hour free boat cruise in Giethoorn.

This trip is suitable for the travellers who want to spend more time in two places. This 10 hours experience gives you a relaxed, memorable and enjoyable tour with lots of beautiful photos. *Please note: at the peak season, we might combine two groups together, but we will contact you in advance about this.

Zaanse Schans

At Zaanse Schans, the natural windmill village, you would first have a private guided Dutch cheese factory tour, to know how to make Gouda cheese in the traditional way. You could taste more than 26 different flavors of cheese. After that, you will visit a Dutch wooden shoes factory, over here you would watch a live demonstration of making wooden shoes by a traditional clog maker. After that you would have a private Royal Amsterdam Diamond tour, to know the history of diamond, and enjoy the 'Royal Lady' diamond with 268 facets. Of course you would have your own free time to get close to the windmills and take a lot of photos.

Catharina Hoeve Cheese Farm

This attraction is the first stop at Zaanse Schans. As described above, you would experience this old cheese farm/factory, to have a private demonstration to understand how to make traditional Dutch cheese, get to know the history of this cheese farm, and cheese tasting with more than 26 different flavors.

Leidse guides are professional, passionate and very active. I was afraid of being embarrassed with the English team, but Leidse is proficient in multinational languages, will not let anyone feel excluded, and also shared some traditional Dutch snacks with us. Although today's weather is unpleasant, detailed explanations and a harmonious group atmosphere make this experience very satisfying.

Tour and guide were great. The people who handle the reservations were rude and nasty. One person threatened me that if we were no at the new meeting point by 7:50 the driver would leave without us. I saved the email to show my travel agent. Will never use viator in Europe again.

Our tour with Leidse was very great. He created a very welcoming environment for all the guests attending the tour to get to know each other. He shared a lot of fun facts and history with us during the tour. Leidse was also very patient with everyone’s need and made sure all the guest felt included during the tour. This tour is definitely one of the highlights of our time in Amsterdam!

Thanks to Reinier for being a very helpful driver and guide, he was very communicative and easy-going. He displayed a high level of knowledge about the historical context throughout the tour and provided an overall enjoyable experience for our first time in Netherlands. Kun (our guide/driver) was great at communicating when and where he was meeting us. The car was comfortable - Kun was well informed, shared a lot of history and stories has a great sense of humor. Seeing the windmills- cheese making and wooden shoe creation were unique Netherlands experiences. This was an excellent activity.
