  It could have been better. Our guide was knowledgeable but spent a few mins telling us what we were about to see and left us time to explore on our own. There was also an issue with our lunch which took a few minutes to sort out. There’s not much to do and see in Alexandria except for the Bibliotheca. The amphitheater and catacombs were not that impressive.

• Nice day out but pricey for what you actually get.

  We are a family of 5 with 3 teens. It was supposed to be a 6am pick up, after numerous messages and calls all going unanswered from the tour company I contacted Viator. Finally heard from Emo tours who checked and located driver who was 40 minutes late. Vehicle was 13 seater with AC and relatively clean though there were broken green glass fragments on 1 of the back seats. Drive was for 3 hours from Cairo with 2 stops, 1 for us all and another for just the driver. Got to Catacombs and waited 15 minutes for the tour guide to arrive. When our guide Shreen came, she took us into the catacombs which we enjoyed but I felt it was a bit rushed. Next Roman amphitheatre, Shreen gave us a brief overview then we were left to view ourselves which we preferred. Next Citadel, the whole family enjoyed visiting here and views from top were amazing in the August midday sun. Then a visit to the Mosque and a traditional lunch of a vegetarian option of Koshary. Lastly a visit to the library where again we were given information by our guide who took us around and then we were left to look around ourselves. Shreen took us back to our car where driver was waiting and arrived back at hotel in Cairo just after 5 with 1 quick stop at a service station. Positives - all 5 sights were enjoyable to visit, and we had a nice lunch. As per the package purchased all entrance tickets were covered so we didnt have any additional expenses (except a fruit juice drink for lunch, which we already knew was not covered). Things to look out for - check with Emo tour company a few days before on what time driver will arrival and get this confirmed by the tour company. Our tour states 12 hours including travel. Our travel time should be about 2.5 hours but time in Alexandria just over 4 hours. There was a heated misunderstanding with Shreen on the itinerary so also get this confirmed by Emo tour company a few days before your trip as we asked for lunch after 2 sights but ended up getting lunch after 4 by which time we were exhausted and hungary having been ready for a 6am start so missing hotel breakfast. If non smokers, best state at time of booking and again a few days before that you want a smoke free vehicle, our driver continously smoked which we didnt enjoy as if like us you're from the UK, we're used to smoke free when travelling. This was a nice day out but nothing exceptional for the price we paid so honestly, I couldnt recommend.

  We had a great tour. Our tour guide was very nice, knowledgeable and fluent in our language which made it easy to understand. The food was excellent and would recommend this tour to anybody.

  The driver was very friendly, took us to all the places EN mentioned in the activity. NO hurry EN any DE them, he always waited without problem. The car was comfortable and well equipped. ES a good opportunity to see another place and see Don DE was the lighthouse of Alexandria.

  We had an amazing time in Alexandria! The city is beautiful and full of fascinating places to visit. Our driver was excellent – very polite, attentive, and professional. The trip was comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
