  Chloe was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about every place we visited. She even organized our dinner reservations. Chloe was an excellent guide. We were pleasantly surprised that we were the only 2 on the tour because of the extremely hot weather. That’s dedication!

• Cold and rainy no show in Lyon

  I reserved this tour with my daughter and sister. After waiting for 10 minutes in the cold rain at the meeting place, I called the local tour number (waiting a few minutes to be polite). The man who answered immediately said he did not know where our guide was, but he could not call him because he was stuck on the phone with me. He was rude in his tone, did not offer to call me back until I pressed him, and acted like I was ridiculous for asking. He then failed to call me back as the minutes ticked by. I called again about 20 minutes after the meeting time, and this time the line went straight to voicemail. So the number was taken offline completely. Meanwhile we had planned our whole day around the tour and had paid over $200 to taste a few pastries and were still standing in the cold rain. This tour should be canceled as I believe the whole experience was unacceptable. You could at least text or email your guests in advance about the need to cancel. But at a minimum you should be polite when they call from the meeting place wondering where their guide is. The Viator customer service gentleman was very friendly, however, and politely apologized. He also could not reach the tour guide number. I am still hopeful for a refund from Viator as the tour was a complete bust. I do not recommend taking this tour. I have had very good experiences with Viator all over the world, so I do not believe this is reflective of Viator.

• A must if you have a sweet tooth.

  Highly recommended tour, especially if you want to try some of the best pastries and chocolates Lyon has to offer. Best eclair we’ve ever had! Chloe was a fantastic guide! She is very knowledgeable and took her time explaining the history behind the food we ate.

  Chloe's tour is a must do if you're into French patisserie. The finest independent shops in Lyon. Make sure not to eat much beforehand. This tour tests the claim you have a separate stomach for sweet products!!
