We start the day by visiting another salt desert which is brown-colored and smaller than Uyuni Salt Flats.
We are observing one of Bolivia's two active volcanoes from this viewpoint located 10 km away. We are now entering the deserts of the southwestern region of Bolivia.
Laguna Canapa
We visit the first Andean lagoon, Cañapa lagoon, a habitat of endemic Andean fauna.
Laguna Hedionda
Afterward, we visit Hedionda Lagoon, known for its high concentration of sulfur, earning it the nickname "Smelly Lagoon." This lagoon is home to pink flamingos. Afterward, we visit a lodge for lunch.
Siloli Desert
At an altitude of approximately 5000 meters above sea level, this is one of the driest and highest deserts in the world. Here we will encounter the famous stone tree, a particular rock formation due to the erosion of wind. We enter to Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve, Bolivia's most isolated protected area.
Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna
Initially, we visit the Red Lagoon, a body of water of 60 km2. We make a trek around this beautiful lagoon, home of pink flamingos. Then we head to our accommodation at Tayka del Desierto.

Geiser Sol de la Manana
We wake up early to see the geysers at their best. This place is situated at 4800 meters above sea level. It could be quite cold, but we will start to observe the first rays of the morning sun.
Aguas Termales De Polques
Get ready for your swimsuit, hot springs await us! This location has abundant volcanic activity, allowing us to rejuvenate and witness the dawn while we enjoy the thermal waters and the surrealistic landscape.
Salvador Dali Desert
After enjoying the hot springs and thermal waters, we will visit the Salvador Dalí desert, considered the 'most surrealistic landscape' in the world due to its resemblance to "La persistencia de la memoria," a piece of art made by the Spanish artist Salvador Dalí in 1931.
Laguna Verde
We will visit the Green Lagoon located in the most south-western point of Bolivia. This spot provides a fantastic view of the Licancabur volcano, which has served as a natural border between Bolivia and Chile since 1904, after the Pacific Ocean war between the two mentioned countries. After this, we'll head back to Uyuni. Along the way, we will make various stops for restroom breaks, to buy snacks, and for lunch.
