Jinshanling Great Wall

08:00: Meet up with our driver at the meeting point in downtown Beijing and board the bus for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Jinshanling Great Wall. 10:30: Arrive at Jinshanling and select your own hiking options: Option 1: Loop hiking from Mid Gate to East Gate 3.5-4 hours/7km Good body shape, hiking experience, active adventurers, many big step, elevation gain up to 450m Option 2: Return hiking through Mid Gate 2.5-3.5hours, many options, referred to our maps Seniors, people with knee problem 14:30: Back to the parking lot and drive back to Beijing. 17:00-17:30: Back to the same meeting point in downtown, timing depends on traffic. This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It is extremely photogenic, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. This section of the wall is wild, ruined, preserved and original. On a clear day, it is difficult to fail to take good photographs here.

Very straightforward tour and Jinshanling is superb! While going down from the east gate, I’ve experienced cramps but the driver met me in the middle of the hill to assist me.

We did the self guided small group tour. Clear instructions provided. Easy trip out to the wall. The driver, John was great. Very friendly and although limited English used his translation app to give us all the info we needed. A fantastic day’s walking. Highly recommended.

Very nice day, walking this very beautiful section of the Great Wall. I made the long option that seems accessible to anyone used to hiking in the mountains. I am also dizzy but it was still doable for me without much fear (but small...). Namely, the person you meet on the subway and the driver don't speak a word of English. Framing a little light in my opinion since you have no such number to call an organizer in case of problem once on the wall.

John picked us up and left on time. We had plenty of time to explore and follow the map while still taking pictures. Our driver John was very nice and helpful to start our hike.

We had a fantastic day out. John was a great driver and very friendly. He even made a short video of us all. The views of and from the wall were sensational and very few other people were there. Highly recommended.

Had a perfect time on the trip. Cheney did a really good job showing us the Great Wall, best foto spots and explained the history :) Even it was the Chinese national Holiday, we sometimes at the wall to ourselves. I can totally recommend this trip! :)

It was amazing experience. Our driver John was so funny and caring. He made us laugh and drove us the point of the beginning the hike. And I loved the location because it wasn’t crowded even tho it’s farder away from the city but not crowded and view of the wall and mountains is amazing. My calfs are very sore for the past few days form the hike. Well worth it. And our driver John wa there to pick us up abs drive us back and gave us gifts. Thank you very much!
