  Absolutely 6* Service. I work in the travel industry and sadly my assitant booked the wrong date, They changed my booking and did not charge me anything even though they had arrived at my hotel already. Next they offered an airport transfer at 60% cost of that the hotel quoted. So of course I booked it. The Driver took me to hotel waited 30 mins and then took me around the city. Very knowlegable taught me everything I asked about Culture, History and so much more.

  I really enjoyed this tour! It was a great way to see Colombo in a short amount of time. Bandara was a great guide: friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I saw so many sites in the city with a flexible and laid back schedule. Thanks so much!

• Great time in Colombo

  Our driver Bandara met is in very good time in a very good vehicle. He then took us on our tour pointing out the main things and giving us an insight to life in Sri Lanka and Columbo in particular Bandara was very helpful and informative.

  A good way to see some of the sights of Colombo, however, there was a lot of covering the same ground on foot to see various buildings in the Dutch Shopping District which weren’t overly interesting. The driver / guide didn’t seem enthused to do the trip and we had to ask which sights we would be seeing during the trip. Highlight was the Hindu temple and blessing. Car was comfortable and AC efficient. Main reason for 2* rating was the level of the drivers’ English which was for the most part barely understandable and made the trip quite frustrating. I’m sure the experience could have been better with a different guide.

  The guide arrived to pick us up at the hotel punctually at the agreed time. It turned out that the tour was only for two people, which surprised us a little. We drove for about an hour from the hotel to Colombo, after which the guide stopped at Independence Square, where he said a few sentences about the place and told us we could walk around. We took a few photos and said we were ready to move on, and he was surprised that we wanted to leave so quickly. We got back into the car, and while driving through the city the guide pointed out several places to us (e.g. Dutch Wolvendaal Church, the Replica of the Aukana Buddha Statue, or the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall) — all from the car! Then he drove us to a Hindu temple. He said we could go inside — he stayed in the car! At the temple it turned out that the entrance was paid. We decided not to go in, because we remembered that entrance to one of the temples was supposed to be included in the tour price. We informed the guide about this and it turned out that we had entrance included to the Gangaramaya Temple. If we hadn’t spoken up, he would have made us pay there as well! After leaving the temple, I noticed a beautiful lake in the city center and asked if we could go there. He said yes and then gave us tickets from the Gangaramaya Temple, as it turned out they also included entrance to the Seema Malaka Temple, which is located on that very lake. You could take beautiful photos there. Next, the guide drove us around the city, occasionally pointing out some interesting buildings. Finally, he took us to the Colombo Lotus Tower — entrance for tourists costs 20 dollars per person. The price includes access to the observation deck and entry to Pixel Bloom, an animated museum presenting the history of the city of Colombo. Time for lunch in the revolving restaurant is also planned at the tower, but we decided not to go because of the cost (a single dish costs at least 30 dollars per person). At the end, we asked the guide to take us to a souvenir shop, which he did, and this was actually a positive aspect of the tour, as you could buy not only souvenirs but also packaged tea or coffee. Overall impression of the tour: poor. When you book a guided tour, you expect the guide to talk a lot about the city, but here it was more about being driven around and having to ask for what we were entitled to. Maybe we were unlucky and ended up with a poor guide, but I do not recommend it.

  This is a great tour to get a good feel of Colombo, and Maleen was a fantastic tour guide. He showed us many prominent buildings and landmarks in the city, both on foot and in the mini bus. Our group included 2 men with walking sticks and they both handled this tour with no problems. Maleen has a great knowledge of the history of Sri Lanka and is very friendly with good English. I would recommend this tour and we had a wonderful day!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon city tour of Colombo. Shout out to our excellent guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Sri Lanka. He went above and beyond to make sure that we had a memorable experience; we wanted a coffee and he took us to an art gallery/coffee bar with a cool vibe and top notch coffee. Highly recommend this tour!
