• Concise but comprehensive Colombo tour

  This tour is recommended for someone who is short on time but wants to see most of Colombo's major tourist spots in a few hours. The stops were many and,although brief, there was plenty of time to look and take photos. I was able to spend some more time in the Maritime Museum, Independence Monument, Buddhist Temple, and speciality tea-tasting shop ... all of which I enjoyed very much. All in all, the tour was about 4 hours and comprehensive as well as enjoyable, being driven around in a tuktuk, because it could nip in and out of spots easily and the breeze from an open vehicle is very pleasant. My guide was a nice man called Prem who was informative, friendly, and an agile driver. He also allowed me a 2 hour shopping interval at a local mall after the tour , and then collected me again to take me back to my hotel. Highly recommended.

  Great way to see the sights. Chathuranga was very informative. Enjoyed the tea tasting. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a fun way to discover Colombo.

  Rilwan very knowledgeable and had a great tour, recommend the tea tasting. This was our first time in Sri Lanka/Colombo and help us find our way around.

• Fun, private Tuk Tuk tour of Colombo

  Shifan was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable of the history of the country and the sites. He was nice and accommodated all of our requests. He went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our day in Colombo.

  We booked the tour for 11AM, but were told around a half an hour before that the pick-up time had changed to 11:15AM, which was totally fine for us. But at around 11:05AM, I got a message that the driver had already arrived and that we should come down now. Our driver was Sajad, he was very friendly and we started the tour right away. During the tour, we got some delicious king coconut and one bottle of water which we had to share. We visited several temples and places of Colombo, but we noticed that Sajad barely told us anything about the sights. We felt it was all very hurried and he rushed us everytime we stopped to look at something (e.g. the plaques or an item at the museum). After around 3 hours, he got even more jittery and always looked at the time, mentioning that we had an hour left. I mean, sure, it says the tour is between 3-4 hours, but it is an approximate. And even though he always rushed us to get to the next place, there were still several(!) places listed on Viator/Tripadvisor we didn't visit (i.a. Lotus Tower and Independence Memorial Hall) or just drove by (i.a. Red Mosque and Old Parliament Building). He also told me that his boss had sent me the link for the review (mind you, the tour was not over yet!), and he got very nervous when I told him I couldn't check if I'd received the message, as I didn't have any wifi or data at that moment. He sighed in apparent desperation and even called his boss because of it. I told him I would write the review when I get back to the hotel or whenever I get the time to do it. He was ok with it for a minute, but for the remainder of the tour, he mentioned the reviews several times (even showed us a good review written about him from another customer), and told us that he wouldn't get allocated any new customers if we didn't write a feedback. I don't know what kind of scheme this all is, and I think it's a pity I couldn't write anything positive about this tour, but my friend and I really took our time thinking back how it all took place and how the tour really was for us, and all that rushing around, the lack of information about the places and the pressuring into writing a positive review made us realize that the whole tour was not satisfactory at all.
