This might be the highlight of our 3 week trip to Japan. Our experience was only 1 hour long; however, so much information and practice was packed into that hour. As an aspiring actor from the U.S., I have taken stage combat classes. This workshop got us to a point in one hour that would've taken months in one of my stage combat classes back in the states. Really. By the end of class, you will participate in a choreographed combat sequence that has many elements. Here is a brief summary: I am casually walking down a street, my enemy confronts me in a rude fashion. I turn around and draw my sword, I defend myself against his many blows. He is about to deal the last blow, but I parry to his left and cross to his backside. I then take the offensive while he defends himself against my onslaught. We lock swords and have a power battle that ends with him grabbing the sword and getting the upper hand. But I outsmart him and deal 2 death blows that defeats my opponent. He falls to the ground while I clean my blade and re-sheath it. And what is more, it is all done to exhilarating music. They also have helpers who take your phone and are constantly taking photos and video. It was extremely well-done. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. I give them my most high and unqualified recommendation. Do it! You will have fun!

Cool experience. You dress up in some traditional samurai garb, learn some wording, & then practice and perform a routine. My family and I fully enjoyed it.

Very cool experience. The presenters were very engaging and made it a fun experience for all. Very good scaffolding so that everyone could be successful in the end. An awesome time.
