Enjoy the incredibly beautiful scenery of the big Almaty lake. After visit the Almaty apple garden with a beautiful landscape of the Almaty mountains and try the real and legendary Aport apple

First, we will visit Big Almaty Lake, which is about a 1 hour drive from Almaty City. On the way to the lake, you will observe the beautiful mountains, crowded pine trees, and landscape. Big Almaty Lake is a natural alpine reservoir. It is located in the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, 15 km south of the center of Almaty in Kazakhstan. The lake is 2511 meters above sea level.

Next, our journey takes us to the Alamty apple garden. Aport is one of the most important symbols of Almaty, the cultural capital of Kazakhstan. The city of Almaty is always associated with a large red apple. A special variety of apple called "aport", grown in Almaty at the foot of the Tien Shan Mountains and the surrounding forests, is one of the symbols of the city.

Big Almaty Lake

First, we will visit Big Almaty Lake, which is about a 1 hour drive from Almaty City. On the way to the lake, you will observe the beautiful mountains, crowded pine trees, and landscape. Upon arriving at The Big Almaty Lake, you will wonder how it was formed as a Big Lake on the top of the mountain hundreds of years ago. Big Almaty Lake is a natural alpine reservoir. It is located in the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, 15 km south of the center of Almaty in Kazakhstan. The lake is 2511 meters above sea level. During the exploration of the lake, everyone would easily notice the color of the lake change according to the intensity of sunlight from light blue to heavy dark.

Local tour operator Panda) changed the time of pickup without adequate notice. From 8 to 6. Sent out a WhatsApp message at 23.45 hours the previous night. Did not respond by phone or text.This made it impossible to go to the meeting point in time. I have requested a full refund asap.

Do NOT pick this tour company. On a good day they are very disorganized, communication is non existent. I booked them before because they were cheap, it was frustrating but I saw everything they advertised even if they were constantly late. This though is next level. They said to meet at a location at 8:20. No communication until 9:00, then we were told that due to bureaucratic shifts that we couldn’t go until 4:30. Why not say this before? It gets worse The guide finally shows up and is very rude, acting like it’s our fault. The only way up aside from a 8 hour hike, if you’re in good shape, is motorcycle, because it turns out that ATVs were not available that day. Again, why not say so before? Refunds were offered, eventually. Do NOT use this tour company. I found out that a lot of guides quit a few months ago, those were the good ones.

This is a very nice trip to see one of the major beauty spots nearby Almaty. The views of the lake are stunning and well worth a visit if you are in the Greater Almaty area. Communication regarding pick up (including the fact that the timing had to be changed due to belated actions from the park authorities) was handled very well over WhatsApp, and our guide Assem had a lovely welcoming personality and was clearly very passionate about her job and Kazakhstan in general. She made the trip an absolute pleasure. The only slight disappointment was that the Apple Orchard isn't much to look at when the apples are out of season (it's best to come in the autumn October time if you want to see the Big apples in their full ripe glory) but nevertheless it provides a welcome stop off to break the journey up. The lake is not too far from Almaty so you can complete the activity and be back in town still with plenty of time to go sightseeing/eating/drinking in the evening. I would highly recommend this tour.

Was a day trip from Almaty city, our tour guide was Abdulhamid, hosted well, friendly and welcoming., had nice view of BAL and apple garden. Later had helped us in finding our next destination and dropped at nearby location. Wish the team all the best.. Thank you.
