What's included:
- FACTORY/PRODUCTION SITES TOUR
– Pick up at 7am at in central Bologna (no later pick up available)
– Guided tour with English speaking guide
– Transfer in comfortable minivan or minibus
- Generose tastings of all products, breakfast with wine and coffee and multicourse italian-style lunch included
– Please notify us with your diet requirements (vegetarian, gluten or lactose free menu available) AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE
or we won't be able to cater for you.
Guests joining from outside Bologna can contact us to arrange for a different meeting point if driving.

We’ll start this incredible journey with an early pick up (around 7:00am) in Bologna with our private minivan or minibus to head to the countryside between Modena and Bologna. Why so early? Parmigiano Reggiano doesn’t wait! It’s made only in the early morning and we want you to get in action ASAP! We will see the cheesemakers taking care of all the production steps right before your eyes. You can touch the creamy curd, taste the cooked cheese and get absolutely stunned by the warehouse, where thousands of wheels all around you wait at least 12 months to be “baptized” as Parmigiano Reggiano. Time to taste it, what’d you expect? Young or aged, creamy or crunchy, delicate or intense: you can decide which of the 2 different-age samples is your favorite… or just love them both!

Third and last excellence to meet: meat (pun intended)! Prosciutto Factory Montevecchio’s products will conquer your palate with its fragrant smell, buttery texture and delicate savoriness. We’ll learn about the strict regulations, the long curing process, and the tremendous care necessary to transform only 2 ingredients into a typical product with unique characteristics. We’ll taste its wholesomeness and genuineness with other local charcuteries and a glass of Lambrusco, before a proper lunch is served!

5.00This was a fantastic day out, well organised but not rushed, informative but great fun. The breakfast and lunch was of a very high calibre and the wine flowed. Ciara was a lovely guide who couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone had a great day. Highly recommend!!

5.00This was such an amazing experience for me and my family! From all the rave reviews on Viator, I had a feeling this would be an experience not to be missed so I booked this for my birthday, which fell during a family trip to Italy. My family and I are big fans of Italian food and wine, so it seemed right up our alley, and it definitely did not disappoint. The Italian breakfast (with wine!) and balsamic tastings was delicious, and it was really interesting to see how parmigiano reggiano cheese was made and the process of curing prosciutto. Tasting the different years of aged balsamic (while eating aged cheese) was such a great experience as well. And then lunch - SO much delicious food and the hospitality that came with it was unmatched. You can tell that everyone in the Italian Days team loves their jobs, genuinely wants to be there with each other and their guests and making connections, and wants to make sure that you have a great time. There is no pretense and it is really lovely and so rare these days to find that kind of genuineness. Food and wine was aplenty with lots of variety. And then came the entertainment with some karaoke by the staff and dancing, and it was just a joyous time all around. The staff were also very sweet to sing me a little happy birthday and to put a candle on the dessert (unbeknownst to me), and even gave me a little gift just before I left which was really nice of them (also not expected)! All in all, exceeded all of our expectations (even my dad who is tough to impress couldn't stop raving about this experience). This is one not to be missed, highly recommended! A big thank you to our wonderful new friends at Italian Days - Grazie Mille in particular to Julia, our guide for the day, and Roberta, who got us safely to each destination!

5.00We had a great experience at all 3 facilities. Our guide Julia was very informative and answered all questions. Breakfast was delicious and our lunch was off the charts! We had a feast and more than enough wine and Limoncello! The staff entertained us with songs (Roberta) and kept us entertained all afternoon.

5.00Julia did an amazing job as our tour guide. She was full of bubbly energy and information! We had an amazing time and enjoyed her humor throughout the tour. The meals were amazing and the karaoke added a fun touch!

5.00We did the day tour from Bologna to Modena. The tour was by far the best tour we did! Driver Roberta and tour guide Serena were fantastic. The parmesan factory was by far our favourite out of the balsamic and proscuitto factories. In saying that, all 3 were fantastic. The breakfast and lunches were delicious and plentiful. We were well informed and looked after throughout whole day. What a fun experience. Highly recommend this tour!!

5.00The staff from Italian days, including Serena our guide and Roberta our driver were Top notch. Information was entertaining and informative, and the support was the best we have seen in a long time. All of the tour elements provided a real grounding In the culinary aspects of northern Italy. I especially enjoyed the balsamic vinegar establishment and the Parmesan factory. Pace was perfect even though my wife has trouble walking. Accommodated her needs perfectly and with care. Every element was super thought out, and I would recommend this to everybody, including younger kids. The Italian days is a super excellent experience and the meals were outstanding. . We ate here after a tour of the prosciutto facility next-door. The prosciutto plates were outstanding, I tried four different kinds. Pasta was excellent, cooked to perfection with various sauces which highlighted the regional cooking. The chef and his staff were top-notch, friendly, and informative. They even got dressed up and lip, synched songs, karaoke, style, with everyone joining in. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
