- FACTORY/PRODUCTION SITES TOUR

– Pick up at 7am at in central Bologna (no later pick up available)

– Guided tour with English speaking guide

– Transfer in comfortable minivan or minibus

- Generose tastings of all products, breakfast with wine and coffee and multicourse italian-style lunch included

– Please notify us with your diet requirements (vegetarian, gluten or lactose free menu available) AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE

Guests joining from outside Bologna can contact us to arrange for a different meeting point if driving.

We’ll start this incredible journey with an early pick up (around 7:00am) in Bologna with our private minivan or minibus to head to the countryside between Modena and Bologna. Why so early? Parmigiano Reggiano doesn’t wait! It’s made only in the early morning and we want you to get in action ASAP! We will see the cheesemakers taking care of all the production steps right before your eyes. You can touch the creamy curd, taste the cooked cheese and get absolutely stunned by the warehouse, where thousands of wheels all around you wait at least 12 months to be “baptized” as Parmigiano Reggiano. Time to taste it, what’d you expect? Young or aged, creamy or crunchy, delicate or intense: you can decide which of the 2 different-age samples is your favorite… or just love them both!

Third and last excellence to meet: meat (pun intended)! Prosciutto Factory Montevecchio’s products will conquer your palate with its fragrant smell, buttery texture and delicate savoriness. We’ll learn about the strict regulations, the long curing process, and the tremendous care necessary to transform only 2 ingredients into a typical product with unique characteristics. We’ll taste its wholesomeness and genuineness with other local charcuteries and a glass of Lambrusco, before a proper lunch is served!

Full-day tour was a great experience and totally worth the cost. Elena was friendly and very knowledgeable about the processes for each food -really helped us appreciate all the effort that goes into production of Parmesan, balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto. The food along the tour and at lunch was great and WAY more than we could fit (no dinner needed afterwards). Roberta, our driver, was also a nice surprise -a fun compliment to Elena's energy.

This was by far the best tour we have had in Italy. Alessandro and Roberta were not only knowledgeable in the rich history of the area but they made it soooo much fun. The food prepared for us was amazing, delicious and more than you can eat. This is worth the time and the money to take this tour, it’s a must. Thank you Alessandro and Roberta.

This was an amazing tour. Each stop was full of food fun and lots of information. The lunch at the end was terrific. More food and wine than one could eat and drink. The staff put on a super show with lots of participation on our part.

Best tour ever!!! . Alena was so much fun and gave us info in a way that I will never forget. The food was spectacular. The immersive experience is not to be missed. Roberta, our driver was so kind and helpful. They all worked so hard to give us the experience of a life time. My only objection is that Viator is a rip off and if you can book directly w “Italian days” that would be better.

The highlight of our Italy trip was the Italian days food tour. We had such an amazing time seeing and learning about Parmigiano Reggiano, Balsamic Vinegar, and Prosciutto and the DOP. The food that we ate was delicious and the provided transportation made this experience absolutely worth the money. We would recommend this to anybody who wishes to tour and learn about the foods of the Emilia-Romagna region and also have a fun full day with a great group. Thank you so much!

This was an incredible tour! There is SO MUCH food so pace yourself and know that the lunch comes with pastas and dessert on top of a table full of delicious appetizers and wines that we thought was the whole meal. Elena our tour guide and Roberta our bus driver, who also served us at our stops, were both amazing and made for an unforgettable day.

Federico and Roberta were wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable about each factory/stop! Our favorite was the Balsamic stop, which also included food, so don't fill up before the main lunch after the Prosciutto last stop.
