Unable to take tour. Poor customer service.

1.00Unable to reach tour operator on day of tour. We arrived in port on Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas as scheduled but were told by the ship crew that we would not be able to dock and we would not be allowed to disembark. The ship then left port. I tried to call the number listed for the tour operator and got no answer. I messaged twice through Viator and got no response. I was hoping to get a refund for circumstances beyond our control, but I did not even get any acknowledgement of my messages.
Pay less than the boat excursion and enjoy the time

5.00We enjoyed our personal tour of Chacchoben. Drinks provided on the van ride, and a stop for fresh fruit on the way back. Way better than a big group!

5.00Carlos was a great guide and driver! Always with a big smile! He picked us up in Bacalar and accompanied us during the whole day, telling us all about Calakmul and Mayan culture. We had an amazing time!

3.00We had a safe trip and was able to see the ruins which was a positive. Now for the not so positive; the location where we met was hard to find, need more signs or a person to help. Another tour company had to show us where they were. They rushed us to load in the van at the village gift shops and food after we toured the ruins. Not sure why because we got back an hour before we were scheduled to. The information from the tour guide(s) was lacking. Would like to know more about the ruins, it felt like super basic information was given. Also when we asked a question we were always told to wait that they would get to that but often they didn’t.

5.00We had a great time seeing ancient sites and hearing about ancient Mayan culture. We are history nerds so every word and each sighting was moving. Carlos is a great host and very knowledgeable. He patiently answered all my questions! I also really enjoyed the beers, and my wife loved the honey pineapple. We would be happy to return and use this same company for more adventures!

5.00I booked a tour to the Ruins of Calakmul, our guide Carlos was very friendly and had so much knowledge about the Maya culture and the Mexican history in perfect English. I really enjoyed it.

5.00Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of Mayan history and ensured we were comfortable and safe when climbing the steep steps of the ruins. We got to see monkeys, as well as sleeping bats and honey bees. We even stopped for some pineapple and oranges on the way back to the ship. Truly a tour you don’t want to miss!

5.00I recommend everyone who passes through the Yucatan peninsula to visit Calakmul! Really amazing Mayan city. The tour is really Top. Our guides Miriam, Carlos and Sérgio were always attentive to everything and always super polite and friendly. The explanations were very good. Thank you.

5.00I had the best experience thanks to our wonderful guide Carlos. We went to the Zona Arqueológica de Calakmul on a day trip from Bacalar and even though it’s a long trip (4 hours one way), it was worth it. First of all, the temples of Calakmul are impressive and because it is still authorised to climb on them the experience is breathtaking (literally!). The second highlight was our guide (and driver) Carlos who was incredibly knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. Thank you Carlos !

5.00Firstly, we had excellent communication with Carlos prior to the trip! He picked us up and we had a nice ride to Calakmul. Stopped for coffee! Saw some animals along the way. Carlos was highly informative during the hike among the pyramids. Carlos is also kind and easy to get along with. To sum it up: we couldn’t ask for a betyer guide or experience at Calakmul!! Go there!
