So, we took an all girls cruise to Cozumel, and were expectedly cautious about booking outside of the cruise for safety reason…. But I promise you we couldn’t have been more WRONG. Arturo was easy to communicate with to set up our private and tailored experience. He gave us suggestions and had things planned but really let us dictate our own adventure. Lunch was great, the drinks were amazing. We went to a beautiful beach, a cenote, a tequila farm, and again had SUCH a good lunch… We all had an amazing girls day with him and if I could give him 6 stars I would! I wish every destination island has a Smiggies and Arturo.

Private tour around Cozumel with Alvin. Just a great time, took us to see several spots and told us the history of the Mayan culture in his own unique and humorous way. Beautiful locations with stops at our leisure. No rush and it was hard to say good buy! Thank you Alvin for a fantastic day!

smiggley was wonderful and super nice. We had such a handful day. Weather didn’t want to let us on the water? But he made up for it and then some. We experienced many fun activities out of the tourist trap scene. He gave us very personal attention. My elderly mother was with and they were very careful with her also, we definitely will be coming back next time when the weather is perfect for boating, If you have a family this is the best tour!

This was the first time I have booked an excursion from the TripAdvisor site at a cruise port. I researched the options for island tours and landed on Smiggies. They had great reviews and I felt it was a legit company. We had a wonderful day in Cozumel with our private guide, Raymus (David). He showed us many interesting landmarks around the island. I enjoyed hearing about the history of the Mayans and about the landmarks on the island. Raymus was very down to earth and knowledgeable about the island. We never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything at the places we went. We went to a tequila farm that had excellent tequila and we learned a lot about the history of tequila. We also went to a couple of the beaches that were beautiful! We went to a lookout over a beach where the sea turtles lay their eggs. We had lunch at a restaurant on the beach and the food and drinks were excellent! We then went to one of the founding towns from the mid-1800s. We also went to a couple of cenotes, one within the Mayan ruins and one near the ocean that incorporates the ocean and an underground river for people to scuba dive through the caves. Each place we visited, we were given plenty of time to explore. We never felt rushed. I would highly recommend this tour because it can be customized to each tour.

Our family had an amazing experience exploring Cozumel with Arturo! This was our shore excursion from our Virgin Voyages cruise trip and it was so worth it. Arturo was such a friendly guide who made us all feel comfortable and informed at all times. He was born and raised in Cozumel and is studying archaeological so he was extremely knowledgeable of the Mayan ruins and everything else about the island. He doesn’t just tell you facts, he gets you to understand the way of thinking Mayans had to explain all the why’s, and learning that was incredibly special and immersive. He is also very accommodating, from my mom’s vegan restrictions and giving us the freedom to do what we want, so long as we get back to our ship on time. My favorite stop would probably be the tequila and chocolate tasting. The cenote was also very cool and private. It was only really us at the time we went. We also got to see some bats in ancient caves, Mayan well structures, the highest point in cozumel, the east beachside, and had delicious food by the ocean. All in all, it was an outstanding private tour experience worth every penny! Thank you, Arturo!!

Arturo was an amazing guide and host. Arturo gave us a history lesson about the island and took us to several ruins and local places including a historic church. We did a tequila tasting and then had delicious tacos at one of his local favorite places. I would highly recommend reaching out and reserving a trip with Arturo!

What are great adventure! This was a personal casual tour of Cozumel. Some of the things you can do on a larger tour, but Arturo has some out of the way places to visit you only see with a knowledgeable local. Arturo has such a great knowledge of Cozumel and the Mayan culture. We visited Mayan ruins and learned how they were used by the Mayans. We visited a beautiful beach, had some good food and tequila, swam in a cenote, and much more. This tour made our vacation complete and we can't wait to see Arturo again.

I can only start with WOW, this adventure made Cozumel my new favorite place! Arturo has to be the best (todo del mundo) guide/host ever. He picked us up and he told us he had places to take us, but the tour could change if we wanted to see other things. This tour was just us and our guide Arturo. I am learning Spanish so Arturo was nice enough to have some brief conversations in Spanish helping my education. We went to Mayan ruins and received the most interesting history and story of the Mayans. We then went and tasted some tequila and learned some history of tequila making as well. From the included picture we also made some chocolate by crushing Cocoa beans and adding agave, it was the best chocolate. We then visited the beach on the opposite side of the island, had a wonderful lunch, learned some more Mayan history, and saw spectacular beaches. We visited the town of El Cedral where the annual festival is held at the beginning of March. We learned a lot of history here as Arturo is rich in information about his home of Cozumel. We ended by swimming in a cool beautiful cenote and then back to the port. Arturo not only entertained us for a few hours, but stimulated my passion for the world history. I am already reading a book he recommended. "The true history of the conquering of New Spain". It is eye opening. Anyway, if you like all kinds of sights and knowledge, this is the trip for you.

Our private tour with Arturo made Cozumel the absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we met, he was fantastic. He had a great itinerary planned, but when he saw we were more interested in certain things, he quickly and easily changed the plan to fit our interests. Arturo’s knowledge of Cozumel is incredible. He's so passionate about his home, and it shows in everything he does. He took us to the most breathtaking spots we’ve ever seen and shared so many fascinating details about the island. More than that, he was incredibly friendly and made us feel like we were exploring the island with a local friend. We honestly can’t speak highly enough about the experience. When we return to Cozumel, there is no doubt we will be asking Arturo to be our guide again. If you're looking for an authentic and personalized tour, Arturo is the one to book.

If you want to go to a true, partially excavated, private Mayan ruins, this is the one to do. We got to go into the caves and go to the top of the ruins. Arturo, our guide, is also helping with the excavation. He has amazing insight and knowledge. Absolutely loved him. We went to a beach that had turtle nests and you could see how fresh the turned sand was asking with the tracks back to the ocean. Lunch was delicious. The tequila tasting was good. You can only get the tequila there as well. I would 100% recommend this trip.
