Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba
The Guided Tour performed by expert historians, will lead you through an alive temple that has been witness to numerous historical events. It will not leave you indifferent. We will explain the different stages of construction, starting from the remains of the old Visigothic basilica of San Vicente that are still preserved. We will follow the Guided Tour to the old mosque that was built by Emir Abderraman I and the following expansions until the Almanzor period. After the conquest of the city by the Christian army the Mosque became Cathedral and occupied several warehouses due to the enlargement of the Caliph Al-Hakam II for liturgical celebrations. Later on, the existing transept of the Cathedral was built.

It will not leave you indifferent. Secondly, we will walk along the well-known Jewish Quarter, where we get to know the Synagogue, the Souk of the Craftsmen and the Monument to Maimonides.

4.00If you are visiting the mosque of Cordoba I highly suggest doing it with a guide. Our guide, Mr. Salamanca, was very knowledgeable and gave us so much more information than what we already knew. We felt our experience was enriched with the guided tour and very worthwhile.

5.00Making the guided visit to the Cathedral-Meshquita and Juderia was one of the most accurate choices of our trip. Since there was no availability of a guide in Portuguese, we chose the tour in Spanish. The guide Rebeca (who is learning to speak Portuguese) was very friendly and demonstrated, not only a deep knowledge but also a great passion for the history of the monument and for Spain. It was worth it.

5.00Wonderful tour guide, Saray, is on top of her history of Cordoba. She imparted depth and breadth that far exceeded my expectations. With so much history to cover, she focused on the muslim/catholic church/mosque beginnings, modifications and present day status. Fascinating part of Cordoba.

5.00Anna was an excellent tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and a funnel of information. She was very welcoming and open to questions. The Cathedral/Mosque and Jewish Quarter were very interesting and we were amazed at how old the Cathedral/Mosque is.
