We will meet at the cruise terminal (or another preferred accommodation) and head directly to Ljubljana in a smooth- relaxing ride trough picturesque landscape of Slovenia.
Ljubljana Old Town
As we arrive to Ljubljana you will be dropped off in the heart of the old town in the best starting location to explore this amazing green town on your own. You will have up to 2 -3 hours of free time to see the towns most important buildings and monuments such as Ljubljana castle, Ljubljana Town Hall, the Triple Bridge, the Shoemakers Bridge, Ljubljana Cathedral, the Robba Fountain, Preseren Square, Congress Square and Ljubljanica river (where the feeling of the old town life is felt the most) and other attractions. You will also have enough time to do some shopping in the old town or just sit and have an nice glass of great Slovenian wine or a cup of coffee at the banks of Ljubljanica river. Guide can come with you - if you like.

5.00We booked this trip several months ago as we prepared for our 12-day cruise with Holland America. Peter Z was responsive to our requests for a side trip to Lake Bled, which actually wound up consuming more of our day than Ljubljana. Peter met us as we exited the cruise terminal, and was easy to find. Our driver, William, who is Slovenian which made him the perfect guide. He shared much of Slovenia's history, and gave us excellent advice on how to approach Lake Bled and not get bled dry. William took us up to the castle and suggested it might be better to just take the hiking trail around the castle which is free. Although he did not tell us what to do, William was very helpful in helping us understand what would be a better use of money. After, we were offered an opportunity to go to Costilna Murka for lunch. This is a small mom and pop restaurant off the lake, and was an optional part of our tour. We thought it would make a great experience, so we agreed and Peter Z set up the reservations. The meal was delicious, and very affordable, about 12 Euro per person and we were stuffed. The food was terrific. Ljubljana was beautiful and we will definitely be back. William was very helpful pointing us in the right direction and getting us right to the center of the old town pointing out the best way to access the Ljubljana castle. The van was very comfortable, seating 8 passengers, nearly brand-new. Our day trip lasted about 8.5 hours round trip from Trieste. Highly recommend!
