Being Monday, we were not able to enter Peles Castle and this was a letdown. The ride was. Bit long.

It was an okay day trip to see the castles and Brasov. I would recommend taking the tour and then getting castle admissions on your own. I wouldn’t recommend paying the extra amount for the guided tour from the bus tour guide. Our guide seemed quite unenthusiastic to give the tours. In Brasov, I thought we would get a more in-depth tour, but it only lasted about 10 or 15 minutes. Inside the Bran castle, it was so crowded and the guide didn’t wait for everyone in our group to get into the next room before starting explanations. It was impossible to keep up as the doorways in the castle are tiny and take time to get everyone through.

You will see a lot of Romania, but you will stay many hours at the bus. This to us happening traffic jam on the back, it disturbs the program of the trip.

Good chance to see three sites and be well escorted. Bit chaotic at the meeting point and you should be clearer about the need to buy tickets online first. I knew we’d have to pay but if you’d provided the website details up front we wouldn’t be scrabbling around sorting online ticket purchase in the coach. However Petru was a total delight - knowledgeable, funny, really excellent company. He made the tour.

This is a very long day (7am-9pm). The tour guide was just going through the motions all day and made long convoluted explanations in poor English. The places themselves made it worth the trip but I would consider this option carefully...
