We will start off the day in an organic Tortilleria and watch the whole process of making tortillas from scratch, learn about the story of the nixtamalization process, and how deeply maiz is embedded in the Mexican culture. We will continue on a walking tour through the charming Condesa and Roma neighborhoods, discover and taste a wide variety of authentic regional tacos from across Mexico, and learn about their history. We will also explore a local market where you will learn about some of the staple ingredients used in Mexican cuisine.

There is no better way to wash down tacos with a delicious agua fresca or a cold beer. We will finish with amazing Mexican coffee and artisanal chocolate.

Other things to note:

The tour is very dynamic, we can mix and change attractions as the tour goes on. We can also accommodate the experience for different dietary restrictions.

"What an amazing dining experience for our team! Not only was it delicious, but it was also fun and inspiring, creating a perfect environment to strengthen our team spirit. The guides were super friendly and the explanations they gave us in addition to making the experience more educational, allowed us to better understand each dish and technique, which further enriched the activity. It was certainly a perfect opportunity to learn, laugh and connect beyond work.

Rating: 5/5 Stars Experience: Eat Like A Local By The Taco Mensch Host: Jyoti The Eat Like A Local By The Taco Mensch tour in Mexico City was a phenomenal experience that left my partner and I raving! Over the course of about two hours, our host Jyoti led us through six unforgettable stops, each showcasing the vibrant taco culture of the city. The tour involved a decent amount of walking, but it was manageable, though I’d recommend wearing comfortable walking or running shoes to fully enjoy the journey. Jyoti’s knowledge of the local food scene and fluent Spanish made every interaction seamless and immersive, offering us a true insider’s perspective. Each taco shop we visited was unique and brimming with character, but our absolute favorite was the pastor taco shop, where the flavors were out of this world. From start to finish, the tour was a delicious and authentic dive into Mexico City’s culinary heart. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to taste the city like a local!

We just returned from an outstanding food tour with chef Daniel. We started with an introduction to a small tortilla manufacturing shop where we learned about the processing of corn into tortillas and saw them being made. We had tacos there and then proceeded to tour a neighborhood market where we were introduced to numerous regional specialties complete with samples. Then street food, more tacos, and finally coffee and desert. Chef Daniel was informative and very personable and very good company. The food was delicious and not something we could have done on our own. This was one of the best tours we have taken anywhere in the world. Come hungry!

Great way to start exploring the multitude of taco options in CDMX. At the same time allows you to see a good chunk of Condesa. It's a very safe area of Mexico City and is a good way to start your experience in the city.

We were stuffed by the end of our tour! We stopped at a variety of places - spots we would have never found or been brave enough to try if we were on our own. Our guide ensured our individual dietary needs were addressed at each stop. I highly recommend this tour!

Loved this tour! Daniel was our guide and we learned so much and had such a great time. It felt like friends having lunch! We went to places and had experiences we never would of had on our own like going to the kitchen of a local tortilla kitchen. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Mexico City.

My boyfriend and I took this tour and we had such a good time. This was our second visit to CDMX and we wanted to do a taco tour in the Roma/Condessa area since we were staying around there. Normally we do private tours so we have more control over the itinerary but we thought it would be more fun doing a group tour and that definitely was the case. Everyone on the tour was so friendly and interesting and it was more fun being in a group. Our guide was really knowledgeable and provided great information, we were lucky to have the owner's wife on the tour and she took amazing pictures that she shared with everyone after the tour. I would highly recommend this tour, the tacos were delicious and it was a perfect way to spend a few hours in CDMX.
