4.00Setting up a reservation and picking up the ebike was a snap. I chose the 55km Omaha Beach and American cemetery route. It began raining early afternoon and I was prepared for that. The scenery was beautiful and the cemetery was a very moving experience. Now the bad news. I was told the bike could 134km on one charge but the battery died at 50km. I was careful to shut off the bike at every stop and after 62km the app still wanted to take me around Bayeux. I never changed the level of assist but dealt with strong headwinds both directions. There's no throttle so I couldn't waste battery that way. Pedaling a dead electric bike is no fun. My old ass was whipped.

4.00There was a lack of communication between Viator and the Velo rental. They didn’t have my reservation. Fortunately, they had two electric bikes available.
Scenic and historic easy to peddle bicycle ride.

5.00We selected Juno beach as our bicycle route. The route was all I hoped it would be. The scenery was beautiful, the small towns, churches and farms made for a wonderful view. And that wasn’t all. Then there was all the historic stuff about D-Day landing.
The bike tour took the croissant!

5.00Pascal and Justin are absolute legends! Not only did they walk me through the whole tour process and how to operate the bikes (bless them for their patience), but they made the entire experience unforgettable. I’ve been in Europe for two weeks doing all the touristy things—but this one takes the croissant. Easily the most memorable adventure and I burned enough calories to justify another gelato.
