This 3-day tour desert from Fez to Marrakech, Morocco, takes you through the Middle Atlas, Sahara Desert, Todra Gorge, Ouarzazate, and Ait ben Haddou, and ends in Marrakech. The first day of the tour begins with a pickup from your Fez accommodation, a drive through the Middle Atlas, and a stop at Ifrane and the Cedar Forest in Azrou. You will then go to Merzouga and spend the night in a Berber tent. On the second day, you will travel from Merzouga to Ouarzazate via the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Todra Gorge. The last day of the tour is spent visiting Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, with a drive through the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech.

After an early breakfast at your hotel or riad id Fez, your English speaking driver / guide will pick you up as early as possible, 07h00 AM in winter time and 08h00 AM in summer ( that will allow you enough driving time to catch the sunset in Erg Chebbi ).
Ifrane
Our journey will commence in Fes and take us through Ifrane, a French-built winter ski resort from the 1930s modeled after a Swiss village.
Azrou Cedar Forest
As you continue your journey, you will traverse the cedar forest in Azrou and have an opportunity to spot monkeys. Your drive will take you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, characterized by scenic winding roads through forests, springs, rocky terrain, and Berber villages. You will then descend towards the Sahara Desert after a full day of navigating the breathtaking Atlas Mountains.
Midelt
During your trip, you will make a stop for lunch in Midelt, a town renowned for its fossils and rocks. Midelt is located halfway to your destination. After lunch, you will continue your journey towards Merzouga along the road.
After lunch, you will continue your journey, crossing the Ziz River and passing by towering palm trees and fortified Kasbahs on your way to Erfoud.
Merzouga
Take a break to admire the breathtaking view of a massive palm tree oasis, then proceed to reach Merzouga in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with mint tea and your guide, who will introduce you to your camels. They will then lead you on a 1-hour camel ride across the picturesque sandy dunes of erg-Chebbi, where you will experience the breathtaking sunset. Upon reaching the desert camp, you will spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. Here, your camels will be secured and you will be served with mint tea. After a delicious dinner, spend the night stargazing before retiring to bed.

5.00We spent three exceptional days with Omar FAIZ, a super guide who was able to introduce us to the real marocco, culture and the heart of the country in joy and Moroccan good humor. I recommend closed eyes for for a beautiful and rewarding experience.

5.00Amazing experience, to do at least once in a lifetime. Hakim has been our guide on this magnificent journey. Our “crazy driver!!”. Attentive, helpful, kind and super nice! We really hope that all the next travelers can meet him. For those traveling in August: closed shoes and heavy clothing are completely unnecessary. Standard tent hot hell, you will not sleep a wink, if the deluxe provides an extra spit of air opt for that. Thanks again Hakim!

5.00Hakim is so awesome and friendly - best three days of my life exploring the Sahara desert, eating Moroccan food, and riding camels. Hakim was also helpful when we ran into logistics issues ex. Running out of cash. Great tour, would recommend to anyone

5.00An unforgettable experience in the desert sand! The camp was cozy and authentic – perfect for enjoying the tranquility of the desert. We would like to especially thank our driver Mohamed Sabri, a super nice local. He not only took us safely through the dunes, but also organized everything top – on time, reliably and with a lot of heart. Absolutely recommend!

5.00The experience was unforgettable because of the sights you visit. These are truly magnificent! The guides that take you each time per activity speak good English and tell interesting stories. Our driver, Omar, was the icing on the cake, such a nice and charismatic man who knows a lot about the area and talks about it during the ride. No doubt about booking this tour!

5.00One of the best organized tours I have been to. Usually those could be hit and miss and especially for a longer period of time like 3 days, but this one was really great! Big thanks goes to our driver Hakim 2 with whom we drove the whole time. Since you spent lots of time in the bus, its super important what the mood is. He was playing lots of music, traditional and modern and made it a super fun trip. He was super flexible accommodating our wishes to stop somewhere on the road for a break or to buy something. We were lucky to be a group of just 7 so of course it was also easier and we also had more space in the bus. The tour guides they met us with were also very good and knowledgeable and the accommodations were also very good. The tent at the dessert was excellent (we booked the more expensive version) and the hotel at Ourzazate had nice rooms (comfy bed, good bathroom) but the location was not super central. The overall trip and program was very good, all possible things to do at the dessert were included and even more than enough time. However, get ready for early get up times (7:00 pick up first day, 5:00 am dessert get up, 8:00 am pick up third day) and lots of driving but thats because you have to cover lots of kms ans the roads are not ideal. Hakim 2 was super good driver, got us super efficiently from one to the other place and we did not feel unsafe at all (sure, nobody drives here following the European rules but within that approach, Hakim 2 did it in a way that we were very okay with). He told us lots of interesting and fun stories on the road as well and was very nice overall. One thing to improve: we were not contacted by anyone from the tour until 21:00 the night before and we were starting to get worried whether the tour would take place at all. We wrote to them on whatsapp, tried calling them but nobody was answering. We were considering to cancel. This is something that definitely needs to be improved- contact the people 1-2 days in advance and let them know you exist 🙂

5.00Amazing experience - our guide and driver Hakim was super fun, knowledgeable and had a great music playlist, which made the long bus ride feel very enjoyable! He always provided us with tips, information about our program and ensured we were well taken care for. The desert canp he tooks us to was also well organized with great big tents and fun evening fire show. Overall- 5 star rating is not enough, highly revommend!
