Daniel was a fantastic guide—extremely knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely engaged in the subject throughout the entire experience. He explained everything clearly, answered questions thoughtfully, and made the tour both informative and enjoyable. You could really tell he was passionate about what he does. Highly recommend!

Our guide Daniel with Chill N’ Go gave us a fantastic tour of Casa Ortega! Daniel’s deep knowledge and appreciation of Barragan’s work was evident throughout the tour - he provided (in perfect English) insightful commentary behind the intention and design of every room in the house and every space in the garden. Our guide truly helped elevate the experience of exploring Casa Ortega above simple observation; he revealed the magic of Barragan’s design. Because our party was the only one with Daniel, and we did not encounter any other groups during the tour (except at the very end as we were leaving), it was as if we were given a private tour. The current owner of Casa Ortega (a descendant of the original owner and an architect himself) even briefly met with us in his studio. Don’t look at any other tours of Casa Ortega, just book this one!

Our guide Alex was fantastic! So knowledgeable and sweet. We got to meet the architect who lives there now and protects the legacy. Also a warm and lovely man. Both spoke perfect English. My husband and I toured two other Barragan houses. and Casa Ortega was our favorite by far. That was mostly because of Alex and the time that he was able to devote to explaining the house, its innovations, Barragan's many influences and contributions. Only sad that we don't have time in MCDX to take another tour with Chill and Go. Highly recommend!!!

We met our guide Isaac outside Casa Ortega at Gral. Francisco Ramirez 22 and immediately knew this was going to be a great experience. Issac’s love and passion for all things Barragán was contagious. The house is currently owned and occupied by a Mexican architect who has preserved Barragán’s legacy. The house is an amalgamation of traditional Mexican and Mid Century Modern architecture. We did not know what to expect but were delighted by the use of wood in panels, and large pieces of furniture through the house, along side ceiling wood beams that seem to float in the space. The play between light and darkness accentuated the straight lines of the stucco fireplaces that seen to want to break through the ceiling. Metal framed windows and two feet thick stone walls created a tranquil atmosphere. Even more beautiful were the gardens, with beautiful trees and several spaces to just be. If you come to Mexico City be sure to visit this gem. Thank you Hector, Robert & Rosemary
