4.00Lovely day trip to areas in Japan (along with scenic views) that one wouldn’t usually visit on the normal tourist trail. Our guide, Naomi, was cheerful and extremely helpful, even going as far as helping me pick out Japanese food items at a local market, despite my not having booked the tour with lunch option. What I also liked was that instead of a terribly early departure time like most tours have, this tour began at 9 a.m. Amanohashidate and Ine Bay are beautiful and this tour made me wish I could stay longer to explore.

3.00It was a very long day from approx 8.30am to 6.30pm. Our guide spoke very little English, so a lot of what she said was lost to us and other English speaking tourists. It was however very nice to get away from Kyoto to a quieter seaside area.

5.00Amanohashidate was very scenic and we got great pictures on a sunny day. There was a eatery at the top of the viewpoint which overlooked the strip of land and it was breathtaking. The food coupon you get is ok for the meal, nothing too special. The ticket for the chairlift is the way to go as you get a nice view going down the mountain. I found not enough time to find the bicycle shop and ride the bicycle through the strip of pine trees in the water. But was still enjoyable. Ine bay is better for less active people as it is just a a boat ride. Some good views. The bus ride is long getting there and back. Be prepared.

5.00Perhaps the best tour we took during this trip to Japan. The places were not crowded, so we really got to enjoy the scenery, and Winnie was a great tour guide.
