5.00The First Class train ride from Kandy to Ella was amazing. The views were absolutely beautiful the entire way, tea plantations, mountains, waterfalls, and greenery everywhere. First Class was comfortable, clean, and not overcrowded, which made the long journey very relaxing. Having a reserved seat made it stress-free, and the big windows were perfect for enjoying the scenery. Definitely one of the best ways to experience Sri Lanka’s hill country. Highly recommended.

2.00We bought the tickets as advised well in advance in January. However, they already knew then that part of the train route from Kandy to Umbella was not passable due to the floods. However, this was not communicated when purchasing the tickets. Given that you can buy the tickets at the train station for less than 10 euros p.p. I think 325 euros for four people for a two-hour train ticket is a bit out of proportion.

5.00Such an amazing train ride! The scenic journey from Kandy to Ella was honestly one of the best parts of the trip. The first-class carriage was comfortable and clean, and having reserved seats made everything easy and stress-free. The views were incredible the whole way — tea plantations, mountains, waterfalls, and small villages passing by. I spent most of the ride just looking out the window and taking photos. Definitely a must-do in Sri Lanka. Would 100% recommend this train ride, especially in first class!

1.00Didn’t go on the trip - the problem is with the terrible customer experience. They won’t contact you with changes to the experience until it’s less the 24 hours notice so you cannot get a refund. So you’re left with very little choice and a trip paid for that you cannot go on

1.00I was told that I would be picked up and taken to ambewala station since Kandy station wasn’t running due to damage from the cyclone. First, they told me pick up would be between 530-6am for a 930am train. Then, at the unreasonable hour of 11pm, the driver messages me he’ll now be coming at 5am instead. I only saw it bc I randomly woke io at 2am. Ambewala station was a 2.5-3 hour drive from Kandy where I was staying. This company did not send a car; they sent a tuktuk. The ride took over 4 hours bc it was in a tuk tuk. The ride itself was miserable. I tried to sleep but couldn’t because it was loud, all sorts of lights were filtering in, I was constantly smelling diesel fumes, and it was freezing due to wind created while the vehicle was in motion, the fact that we were increasing in elevation, and because the sun wasn’t up. On top of that, because tuk tuks are open air, I was forced to inhale road dust and fumes from other vehicles. This was a horrible experience. It’s clear the company does not care about customers.
