What To Expect
Schloss Neuschwanstein
Neuschwanstein Castle, the most popular attraction in Germany. The 19th-century Romanesque revival palace nestled on top high above the village of Hohenschwangau. With prereserved tickets we skip the long lines for an indoor visit of this architectonical masterpiece (multilingual audio guides available). Marvel on this outstanding place, residence of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and explore rooms like Minstrel's hall, the Byzantine Throne Room and many more. Go for a private walk to enoy the terraces, grounds and gardens outside as well. After the tour, shop for souvenirs, grab lunch (own expense) and take photos against the stunning backdrop of the Bavarian moun-tains.

Then we drive north to the picturesque town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, on the Romantic Road. Join a walking tour and follow the guide through the town's winding, cobbled lanes. See the half timbered houses, the Renaissance Town Hall and the almost fairy- tale appearance of the majestic town gates that welcome Rothenburg's many visitors from near and far. The tour ends with a return trip to Frankfurt.

4.00Castle was awesome. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Not enough time in Rothenburg so that part of the trip should be cut out. I couldn’t shop or climb the wall. It was a great spot and I’ll go back when I have 3-4 hours to spend.

5.00Peter was absolutely the best tour guide for this trip. He was knowledgeable, pointing out and explaining all of the historical landmarks. He also explained all of the necessary steps on each part of our castle tour. He definitely went the extra mile!

3.00It is a 4 hour drive to the castle from Frankfurt and then a wait for timed ticket to enter. There is a 30 minute wait to take the carriage up (reccommended) and then the last carriage is at 4pm so most likely walking down a steep long walk. Wear good shoes. The tour of the inside of castle itself is very brief (20 minute audio which guards rush you through). You will climb up and down multiple spiral stair cases 4 flights. At the end then you are left with souvenirs and a Cafe. Recommend watching the videos at the end for more info. Incredibly beautiful but not enough time to enjoy it or soak in all the details. No cameras allowed inside. Our tour guide Peter was very kind and patient and knowledgeable especially about Rothenberg.
