Chureito Pagoda
The Chureito Pagoda, located in Arakurayama Sengen Park, is a must-see attraction. This park is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of Chureito Pagoda, Mt. Fuji, and Fujiyoshida City at the foot of the Mountain. To reach the Chureito Pagoda and the observation deck, visitors must climb 398 stairs. The view from the top is considered one of the best in Japan and is listed as one of the 21 must-visit places for photographers from around the world. While the cherry blossom season is ideal for capturing the iconic image of Mt. Fuji surrounded by cherry blossoms and the five-storied pagoda, the park offers stunning scenery throughout the year as the landscape changes with the seasons.
Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine
The shrine was built in 705 and has served as the guardian god of Arakura Village for over 1,300 years. It is a sacred place of worship where people seek protection against bad luck, promote harmony within their households, and pray for safe childbirth and successful child-rearing.

1.00Just a poor overall experience. It started with our guide, Qaqu, arriving a little late. This was followed by a difficult start with traffic jams on a Saturday morning much of the way. The sites on the itinerary were kind of boring and the cloud cover made Mt. Fuji difficult to view. The worst of it was the guide simply didn’t have a great command of English and consequently, couldn’t do a good job of providing insights as a local. A tour isn’t interesting if your guide is unable to tell a story about what makes the visit special. At times he spoke words or what sounded like words, but they failed to connect to form a clear thought. Trying to guess what he really meant for 11 hrs of the tour was not fun. I have taken many tours booked through Viator over the years and in many different countries and this was the first time I just wish I hadn’t gone. I was counting the hours and minutes until we were back. Can’t believe I wasted an entire day in Japan. Insufferable.

5.00The trip was worth it even though Mt Fuji hid from us on that day. Going to Mt Fuji, it was very comfortable to do this group tour to avoid any hassle. The bus was clean. Keiko took time to have a chat with her guests. She gave us a lot of tips going to Mt Fuji. The driver also was very skilled and drove us safely back and forth. Overall, it was a very nice trip we all had.
