Ashigaru Museum
The tour starts with a visit to the Ashigaru Museum. Ashigaru is a word describing low ranking Samurai, and here you can enter two homes that once belonged to Ashigaru families in the days of the Samurai. Outside, you will find beautiful landscaping, and inside faithfully preserved rooms granting a glimpse into old-school Japanese life.
Ruins of Nagamachi Bukeyashiki
Next, you will be led through the former Samurai District known as Nagamachi. Here, the streets still maintain their handsome appearance and the visitor would be forgiven for thinking they have somehow landed in Old Japan. With a number of shops selling local crafts on the street, you will also have a chance to window shop for some goodies to take home.

Akari did a wonderfull job guiding us through Kanazawa and showing us the Samurai and Geisha districts, the castle and the Kenroku-en garden, and the fish market. She was very knowledgable about Kanazawa and Japanese history, which made the day informative and enjoyable. Overall highly recommended.

Farida was an excellent tour guide and was very knowledgeable. There were only of us on the tour so it was very intimate and a great way to see and learn about Kanazawa. I would highly recommend this tour and Farida!

We had a great tour guide Fadir who explained the history of the places we visited in detail. We were fortunate enough to be in a very small group so we learned a lot. Kanazawa is a must to visit while in Japan.

For this price one would expect to hear a lot of history about places and traditions, changes over time and details about everything you see, but… it was so minimal from the guide who is not native to the country.

Akari was an excellent guide! She was very friendly and knowledgeable of the locations we saw and local history. It was very nice seeing a side of Kanazawa that we probably would not have otherwise.

This was a great way to see Kanazawa. It is a fair amount of walking, but you get to hit all the major sites (including the Omicho market for lunch). Ellie was a great tour guide, very sweet and knowledgeable. Kanazawa is beautiful and full of interesting history, so we are glad we got to learn more about it on this tour.

Great way to se the major sites in Kanazawa. Small city easily walkable. Our guide was very informative and we learned a lot. Nice that we have lunch time on our own and then regrouped for the afternoon. Definitely recommend especially if you have limited time in Kanazawa

Very nice tour. Covered all the promised things. Would like some option to take some public transport at longer walks. We were exhausted by 2nd half of tour. We are seniors. The guide was interesting and personable. The things we saw were interesting and enjoyable.

Beautiful visit to the important places of Kannazawa. Our guide Farida did an impeccable job. We probably wouldn't have seen all these destinations for ourselves. Only downside, I would have liked more history between the site (about neighborhoods, city , etc).
