24, 25, 31 December and 1 January the Palace of Pena and the Quinta da Regaleira will be closed.
In cases where the Palacio da Pena or the Quinta da Regaleira are closed due to natural events (such as storms or fire risk), other alternate places will be visited, such as the National Palace of Sintra and the Palace of Queluz. The tour will not be cancelled in these situations
The Guide may need to speak more than one language during the tour
This experience requires a minimum of 4 participants. If you cancel due to failure to comply with this number, a new date or full refund will be presented.

5.00My 3 friends and I decided to opt for a guided day tour of Sintra and Cascais instead of trying to tackle the tickets and logistics ourselves, and we are incredibly happy that we did. We had the most incredible day and we truly feel it was because we were lucky enough have João Ramos as our guide for this day trip. He picked us up from our lodging in Lisbon and gave us recommendations for our stay there as we were heading out of the city to Sintra. Although it was an early start to the day, we were able to stop for coffee and pastries at the famous Casa Piriquita before we made our first official stop and we got to beat the heavy crowds and major traffic at each location because of the early start. With a background in history, João is extremely knowledgeable about each location and went into great detail at each of our stops. He wove history, myth, legend, and philosophy together so beautifully and thoughtfully throughout the entire day which made us appreciate each location far more than we would have had we decided to visit these places ourselves. After visiting the Quinta de Regaleria and Pena Palace he took us to a locally owned restaurant where we tried delicious traditional recipes and great local wines. This was an optional lunch for an additional cost, but well worth it given the amount of food we were able to try and how delicious everything was. After that he drove to Cabo da Roca in Colares before sunset which was stunning, and the wrapped the trip up driving along the coast during the sunset to Boca do Inferno in Cascais before heading back to Lisbon. We all would highly recommend booking this day trip if you want to make the most of Sintra, Colares, and Cascais. And we also recommend requesting João if you can! He was incredibly thoughtful, kind, and respectful throughout the entire trip, and we really enjoyed the intellectually stimulating conversations we shared and feel fortunate to have had him as our guide.

5.00Well organized trip. We were a group of eight. The company picked me up even though I was well out of their pick up zone. Excellent guide Hugo. Very knowledgeable and personable. The weather did not cooperate but still a remarkable trip. Only comment I would make is to more clearly state that you need to bring cash to pay the guide for the admission to Peña. There are ATMs in Sinatra if you don’t have it. Overall excellent experience.

3.00Hugo, our guide, was kind and professional. We found there was a lot of time wasted walking in Sintra and too much time in the gardens. Only a few minutes inside the castle. At Pens cadtle, hardly any time at all and none inside. Cascais and the rest of the day was good.

5.00We had a truly wonderful day with João Ramos. He taught us so many interesting things, and had such a thoughtful perspective about Portuguese history and culture. He really knew how to prioritize the most special things to see. We all had a wonderful lunch together, and it was a magical day.

5.00I had the best time of my Lisboa trip on this small group tour of Sintra and the coast! Our guide, João Ramos, was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and had a great sense of humor. He provided the best recommendations during the tour and also for when we returned to Lisbon. My favorite part was seeing the palace of pena and cabo de Roca, which were breathtaking. We had a fantastic Portuguese lunch (appetizers, mains, drinks, desserts, etc) where João taught us how to eat barnacles and prawns (both delicious) and taught us more about the different foods and drinks native to the country. We passed by Praia do Guincho and learned more about the surfing culture here and I can't wait to watch the docuseries João recommended featuring Garrett McNamara and how he helped to put surfing on the map by surfing the largest wave documented in Nazaré. Overall I could do this trip again tomorrow and am sure I would learn something new and have an amazing time all over again. I highly recommend this way to tour sintra and the coast, as i could not imagine I would have benefitted as much from self-touring, and I definitely would not have learned as much or had as much fun. 5/5! Thank you, thank you!

5.00Very nice trip. Comfortable organization in a 9-seater minivan. The guide David very competent, prepared, nice and kind. The tour assistance sends you a summary message with all the info to know, highly appreciated as well as the hotel pick-up. Sintra is gorgeous and definitely worth a visit. The tour includes a visit to the exterior of the Pena Palace. The price of admission to the Quinta de Regaleira must be paid on the spot to the driver, who has already bought tickets, so as to avoid the queue. His explanations during the tour of the Quinta de la Regaleira enriched the experience. Exquisite lunch at the restaurant recommended by the guide.
