Obidos

Start your journey toward the town of Óbidos, where we will start with a guided tour accompanied by our expert local guide. Completely surrounded by ancient walls and preserving all its medieval charm, Óbidos is one of the most famous and visited places in Portugal, a must-see in the surroundings of Lisbon. The narrow cobbled streets that can be seen in Óbidos will immediately transport you to a medieval atmosphere. These streets are home to perfectly preserved old houses, historic buildings, important monuments and, dominating the historic center in the highest part of the village, the Castle of Óbidos, declared one of the 7 wonders of Portugal.

ricardo dias is a wonderful tour guide. he’s very engaging and funny. he’s well organized and keeps the group on schedule. the only downside is that the trip is very long, 8:00 am until 9:00 pm, most of it spent on the bus. it’s a great way to get out of Lisbon and see the countryside. you will have a nice time if you’re up for the long hours

Our trip to Porto, Obidos and Nazare was fantastic! With our amazing tour guide Ricardo Diaz is just awesome, he’s just not only informative but also talented, as he have a very lovely voice and sang a song for us after the trip. Everything went well and on time,I love how traditional are the cities of Obidos same with Nazare, the views are breathtaking with the village of Nazare with the view at the top of the hill. Porto sunset view is a must! Just fell inlove with the city along the river is a top!
Poor group management — multiple guests left behind

This tour ended very badly due to unsafe and unprofessional group management by the guide. The Porto portion of the tour started after lunch at around 3:30 pm. During the latter part of the tour, the guide was moving very quickly, and six guests became separated from the main group. We eventually found one another again at the starting point of the Porto portion of the tour. At that point, the guide told us words to the effect that “this is the tallest place in Porto, so you won’t get lost if you are here.” From around 4:00 pm, we remained at that location as instructed and attempted to contact the tour operator through the Viator platform, but received no response. The first contact we received from the guide was only at 5:17 pm, when he instructed us to “stay there, don’t move” while he sorted out logistics. We followed this instruction and continued waiting at the same location. No clear meeting point or follow-up instructions were provided after that. Despite this, the guide and the rest of the group departed without us. We attempted to call and message multiple times with no response and waited for over an hour in total. This was stressful and felt unsafe. We were eventually forced to arrange and pay for our own transport back. The operator later described this as a miscommunication and offered a partial refund, but the situation should never have occurred. Leaving multiple guests behind without guidance or assistance is unacceptable. A tour guide has a clear duty to manage pace, keep the group together, and ensure all guests are safely accounted for, especially at the end of a tour.

It was a great trip through the three cities. We had a super friendly, open-minded guide named Ricardo, who also can't sing super. He's doing his job very well!

Ricardo was great!! Holds a red flag, but is not a red flag (aka: he's awesome). He made the trip super fun and enjoyable, always providing clear instructions. Did I mention, he can sing?!?!

Great trip Ricardo was very friendly and an amazing guide. I loved his singing. My favorite place was obidos, I do believe the tour should’ve spent more time there than in Porto.
